본 연구는 평생교육과정으로서 발달장애대학생들에게 대학기반(campus-based)의 직업, 학업, 생활중심의 전환활동을 제공하고 있는 고등교육 기관의 프로그램 효과를 알아보는 실증연구이다. 구체적인 연구의 목적으로 고등교육 환경에서의 전환활동이 발달장애대학생의 일상생활자립 능력에 미치는 효과를 밝히고자 했다. 연구 방법으로 경북에 소재하고 있는 D대학교 평생교육 산하에 설치된 K-PACE에 재학 중인 학생을 연구 대상으로 선정하여 K-PACE의 전환활동 프로그램을 4개월간에 실시한 후 일상생활자립 능력 검사를 통해 그효과성을 검정하였다. 연구 결과는 고등교육 환경에서의 전환활동은 발달장애대학생의 일상생활자립 능력에 효과가 있었다. 자립, 금전관리, 지역사회참여 및 자원의 활용, 여가활동, 건강관리, 그리고 대인관계 기술의 모든 영역에서 유의미한 효과가 나타났다. 대학기반의 고등교육과정 제공은 발달장애대학생이 지역사회로 적응할 수 있는 전환능력을 갖는데 도움을 줄 수 있다. 특히, 발달장애인을 위한 고등교육은 학업, 직업, 그리고 사회적으로 통합된 교육과정으로 구조화 될 때 효과가 나타나고, 사회에 필요한 전환능력을 기르는데 도움을 줄 수 있다.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of campus-based postsecondary education program that providing vocational, academic, and independable transition activities for university students with developmental disabilities. Specific purpose is to verify the effects of transition activities to promote daily living skills of university students with developmental disabilities in higher education. The participants were university students with developmental disabilities enrolling K-PACE program under lifelong education at D University. These students participated in transition activities of K-PACE program for four months and daily living ability were assessed to verify the effectiveness of program. The results of this study are as follows; First, transition activities of higher education setting showed positive effect for improving daily living abilities of university students with developmental disabilities. Especially, these activities showed effect in areas of independence, money management, community participation, leisure activities, health, and interpersonal relations. Therefore, higher education for university students with developmental disabilities will be effective and helpful for students to be prepared to have transition skills when these program comprise integrated curriculum academically, vocationally, and socially. This study will contribute for increasing the recognition of needs of
