이 연구는 의사결정기술 교수프로그램의 적용이 발달장애학생의 자기주장 행동과 자기결정능력에 미치는 효과를 밝히고자 하는 것이다. 연구 대상은 D시 특수학급의 발달장애학생 30명(실험집단 15명, 통제집단 15명)이며, 실험집단에게는 의사결정기술 교수프로그램중재를 20회기에 걸쳐 시행하였다. 연구 결과, 의사결정기술 교수프로그램 중재는 발달장애학생의 자기주장 행동을 증가시켰으며, 자기결정능력도 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a decision-making education program on the self-assertion and self-determination skills of students with developmental disabilities in an attempt to assist them to improve their own decision-making skills and attain self-realization in pursuit of a better quality of life. The subjects in this study were 30 selected students with developmental disabilities who were enrolled in special classes in the city of D. The students expressed themselves improperly, had to be helped by others in making a choice or were passive when they were engaged in after-school activities. The conclusion attained through this study was as follows. First, decision-making education program had the effect on improving the self-assertion of children with developmental disabilities. Second, decision-making education program had the effect on improving the self-determination of children with developmental disabilities.
