웹을 활용한 교육은 인터넷의 일부인 웹이 1990년대 이후 급속한 성장을 하면서 교육에 융합된 결과이다. 그러나 특수교육 분야에서는 아직 웹 접근성과 콘텐츠 확보에 어려움을 가지고 있는 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 총 18개의 중앙 및 시ㆍ도 교수-학습지원센터 홈페이지와 에듀에이블 사이트에서 제공되는 웹 접근성과 특수교육콘텐츠 현황을 분석하였다. 구체적으로 이들 사이트들의 전반적 현황, 웹 사이트 사용의 용이성, 탑재된 교육 자료의 유용성을 평가하여 비교분석하였다. 연구결과로 그 동안 소외되어있던 특수교육 웹 콘텐츠에 대한 정보를 전반적으로 제공하고 향후 국가 및 지역단위 차원에서 특수교육 웹 콘텐츠 제공의 방향이 논의되었다.

We have now the information superhighway in our schools. Teaching and learning methods using Web sites are increasingly applied to education since 1990s. However, we lack of digital contents and their use to support the learning of students with disabilities. Therefore, the study investigates 18 public education Web sites used and recognized the most by special education teachers. The Web evaluation includes three components; general status, Web accessibility, and Web contents. As a result, the status of Web accessibility and contents for special education is presented. The suggestions to design Web sites and contents for special education are discussed at last.
