본 연구는 선행 연구의 고찰을 통해 장애아동 가족의 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 주요요인들을 전체적으로 규명해내는 것을 목적으로 하며, 나아가 장애아 가족 교육프로그램과 가족지원 대책의 기초를 제공하여 궁극적으로는 장애아 가족의 삶의 질을 높이는데 그 뜻을 두고 있다. 연구의 결과 첫째, 가족이나 가정환경, 가정생활 영역에 속하는 요인으로 가정의 사회경제적 지위, 장애아 어머니, 장애아 아버지, 여가활동이, 둘째, 심리적, 과정적 영역에 속하는 요인으로 자아존중감, 스트레스 대처유형, 의사소통이, 셋째, 사회적 지원 영역으로 자조집단, 전문가와의 상호 협력, 종교가 장애아 가족의 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인으로 나타났다. 규명된 제 요인의 논의에 기초하여 향후 장애아 가족을 위한 모든 지원이나 교육프로그램은 국가나 지역사회 차원의 공공정책 차원에서 시행되어야 할 것으로 제언하였다. 본 연구의 특징은 이제까지 장애아 가족 관련 연구에서 그다지 주의를 끌지 못하던 여가활동이나 자아존중감, 의사소통, 및 종교를 중요한 요인으로 부각시킨 점이다.

The purpose of this literature review is to find out the important factors related to the quality of life in families with disabled children in previous researches. The findings are (1) home environments·family·family life factors such as socio-economic status, mother with disabled child, father with disabled child, leisure time activities, (2) psychological·process factors such as self-esteem, stress coping styles, communication, (3) social support factors such as self-help group, cooperation with professionals, and religion. It was recommended that all the efforts to improve the quality of life in families with disabled children should be provided at the national or regional public policy level. The specific feature of this study is to bring the factors into relief such as leisure time activities, religion, self-esteem, and communication which have not been paid attention till now.
