Related to educate deaf children, it has been argued that sign language should be the first language of some deaf children and that general language should be taught as a second language. This argument in deaf education is due to stand face to between the clinical model and the cultural model. The clinical model represents a view in which deafness is characterized as a disability stemming from a biological deficits. The cultural model, deafness is viewed as a difference, not a disability. This purpose of study was to be increased literacy through benefit of sign language and practical use method. The results obtained in this study were as follows. First, sign language is a natural language. Second, deaf children acquire sign language in a normal and predictable manner when exposure occurs at an early age. Third, deaf children who acquire sign language at an early age may outperform other deaf children on all measures of academic achievement. Based on the study results, methods for practical use are presented.
