장애아동을 위한 교육에 가족의 직접적인 참여가 중요하다는 인식은 널리 수용되고 있지만 조기중재과정에 부모를 포함시키기 위한 개별화된 전략은 더 많은 연구가 필요한 상황이다. 이는 가족상황, 가족구성원들의 특성, 가족이 살아가는 전체적인 가정환경 등이 다양하기 때문이다. 본 연구의 목적은 조기중재과정에서 나타나는 가정의 특성을 고려란 개별화된 전략으로서의 가정지원프로그램을 개발하고, 개발된 프로그램의 적용가능성을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 가정환경과 유사한 24시간 기숙제 재활원이라는 단위시설 환경을 일시적용 연구대상기관으로 선정하여 가정지원프로그램의 IEP를 개발하였고, 그 적용가능성을 알아보았다. 연구결과 IEP 개발의 효과적 측면은 몇 가지로 제안되었다. 첫째, 비전문가들에게 교육서비스를 제공하여 교육계획, 정확한 장애인 정보 등 교육서비스의 질을 향상시킨다. 둘째, 기초선 설정, 교육계획, 교육실시, 교육평가 등 일련의 교육서비스 체계에 따라 전문가 집단의 지식을 구조화한 정보시스템으로 누구에게나 쉽게 재공할 수 있게 한다. 셋째, 가정과 학교, 가정과 지역사회, 지역사회와 학교간의 시간적 · 공간적인 제약성을 해결하여 가정 연계적 서비스의 질적 향상을 가져오게 한다.
Direct family involvement in education of children with disabilities has been getting a great deal of attention as one of the most important factors. However, developing specific strategies for parents to be directly involved in the early intervention program for children with disabilities mainly because of a diversity of the family situation, its environment, characteristics of each family member, and so forth. The purpose of the study is to have a basis of developing family supporting program for children with disabilities and to examine the possibility of its application to real family situation. Thus, the study will select a 24-hour boarding rehabilitation center as its setting, which is similar to childrens home environments. IEP will be developed based on each childs situation and the IEP program will be examined if it can be applicable in its real environment. The effectiveness of the program will be targeted as follows. First, it will help paraprofessionals involved in educating children with disabilities plan advanced quality of educational program and have correct information on disabilities. Second, it will serve professional knowledge in educating children with disabilities, including baseline establishment, educational plans, implementing educational programs, evaluation of the educational program. Third, it serves systematical information services overcoming restrictions in time and space between home and school, home and community, and school and school.
