The purpose of this study was to experiment the effect of group Gukak(Korean traditional music) activities on self-respect of the low achievers and their low Achievers` relation with classmates by helping them purify their emotions and understand the very pleasure of the activities and be satisfied with them. The subjects of this study were sixteen low achievers who had taken the low achiever test and KEDI-WISC at W elementary school in Daegu. The self-respect test is based on the classmate relationship test of Kim Hyung-tae`s (1989). There were five activities (60 minutes a session) a week for eight weeks. Pre-test was performed to divide sixteen students of low achievers at the similar level of experimental and control group. The experimental group was only given a chance to take part in the Korean traditional music activities as a post-test and the meaningful difference were confirmed by the t-test. The findings of this were as follows; Firstly, In case of the effect of Korean traditional music activities on the self-respect of the low-achievers. the sense of self-respect of the experimental group was affirmatively improved. In other words, group Korean traditional music activities can influence the sense of the self-respect of the low-achievers. Secondly, In case of the effect of Korean traditional music activities on the relations with classmates of low achievers, the relations with the classmates of the experimental group was affirmatively improved. Namely, group activities can influence the relations with the classmates of the low-achievers.
