본 연구는 특수교사의 역할을 담당하게 될 특수교육 관련 전공 대학생들을 대상으로 학습장애에 대한 이해 및 인식정도를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 대구경북지역 대학교 2, 3, 4학년으로서 학습장애 관련 연수 및 강의수강 경험이 있는 97명과 경험이 없는 92명으로 총 189명을 대상으로 하였다. 이들에게 ‘학습장애’ 하면 떠오르는 용어를 쓰도록 요구하는 자유반응형 설문지를 실시하였다. 그 결과, 연수 및 강의수강 경험이 있는 학생들은 학습장애의 정의와 개념을 인식하고 있었으나, 경험이 없는 학생들은 정의부분에서 불일치 및 제외요소를 인식하고 있지 못했다. 또한 학생들은 학업적 특성에 대한 인식은 높았으나, 사회적 문제와 교수방법에 대한 인식이 미흡한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 학습장애 관련 연수 및 강의수강 경험이 있는 학생들도 학습장애에 대한 다양한 측면의 인식과 이해가 필요하며, 경험이 없는 학생에게는 학습장애에 대한 보다 기초적인 지식습득이 우선되어야 할 것이다.

The attention of learning disability is increasing and higher prevalence was reported than other disabilities. Many children with learning disabilities were founded to attend a regular class instead of special school or special class, and it needs to understand learning disabilities exactly. The purpose of this study was to know the recognition on learning disability of university students who will become the special educators in special school, special class, special education center, etc. One hundred eighty nine students around Daegu and Gyungbuk area participated in this study. There were ninety seven students who had courses of learning disability subject and ninety two students who didn``t have. I asked them to write associate terms freely when they listened ‘learning disability’. The result was that most of students who had courses of learning disability subject had a high recognition on the definition and characteristic of study. But students who didn``t have had a low recognition on the definition. Specially, Most of students had a low recognition on the social problems and teaching method for children with learning disabilities etc. Even students who had course of learning disability subject were found to need more recognition and understanding on teaching method of learning disability. The other students were found to need a basic knowledges on definition of learning disability.
