이 연구는 지역문학 연구가 지역의 문화적 사회적 현재성, 대중성과의 접점을 기반으로 진행되어야 한다는 문제의식에서 출발한다. 이를 위해 나혜석을 소재로 한 소설 함정임의 『춘하추동』, 박정윤의 『나혜석, 운명의 캉캉』를 중심으로 나혜석의 생애와 문학이 어떻게 현재적 의미를 확보하는지를 검토했다. 나혜석의 대중적 이미지는 이혼과 불륜, 불행한 죽음 등을 근거로 ``부정(不貞)``한 여자의 ``불행``한 일생이라는 서사로 고착된 바 있다. 『춘하추동』과 『나혜석, 운명의 캉캉』은 나혜석의 서사를 재현하는 화자를 소설 속에 설정함으로써 이입과 거리두기의 효과를 동시에 거둘 수 있었고 이를 통해 나혜석에 대한 부정적 이미지를 전환할 수 있었다. 이는 『춘하추동』에서 사랑의 내면화를 통해 나혜석의 내면을 탐구하는 방향, 『나혜석, 운명의 캉캉』에서는 민족의식의 부여를 통해 그의 삶을 스캔들이 아니라 주체적 의지와 신념의 표상으로 구체화했다. 나혜석의 현재적, 대중적 재현은 결과적으로 자기 서사를 통한 정체성 찾기라는 방향으로 귀결된다. 지역문학유산의 현재적 재구성은 전문적 연구성과와 대중적 이미지 사이의 격차에 개입하고 깊이읽기를 통해 그 격차를 새로운 문화적 기반으로 전환할 수 있을 때 성공적으로 완수될 수 있다.

This study adopts the critical perspective that the study of local literature should seek a connection with cultural and social contemporariness and popularity. In particular, it mainly examines recent texts such as Ham Jeong-im`s Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter and Park Jeong-yoon`s Na Hye-seok, Fatal Cancan, thereby elucidating the contemporary meaning of Na Hye-seok`s life and works. Na`s popular image is that of a dishonest woman who lived an unhappy life, based on her divorce, cheating, and miserable death. The two aforementioned works, however, could change her negative image with empathy and distantiation by creating a narrator who represents Na`s narratives. In Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, her internalization of love shows her innermost thoughts, while Na Hye-seok, Fatal Cancan creates a concrete shape of her subjective will and ideology, not of scandal, through endowing her with nationalist consciousness. Consequently, her contemporary popular representation leads to the construction of her identity through self-narrative.
