現在日本の音韻論硏究は, 傳統方式による史的硏究, 漢字音, アクセントの各分野において, 豊富な資料に惠まれて, 活發な硏究が行われ, 著しい成果を擧げてきた。そして, 音韻論理論による現代日本語の分析やアクセント硏究も蓄積された多くの資料を利用した硏究が活發に行われている。最近は, 硏究方法, または資料に對する視角に變化が見られる。 これに反し, 韓國における日本語の音韻論硏究は, 僅かな硏究者によって命脈を支えている程度である。これには色色な要因があるだろうが, 硏究環境によるものが大きいと考えられる。 母語話者でない韓國人にとって, 日本の傳統的な手法に從い, 古文獻を調べるとか, アクセント調査を行うとかして, 資料を收集し分析するのは容易なことではない。それよりは日本人學者が收集し整理した資料を利用して, 音韻論理論によって, 音韻論的解釋を行うのが望ましいと思う。それゆえ, 日本語音韻論の硏究を目指すものならば, まず音韻論理論をしっかり身につけることが必要である。そうすれば, 日本語音韻論のどの領域においても, 優れた硏究成果を擧げることができると思う。

Theses days, researches on Japanese phonology, especially on the areas of historical researches or Sino-Japanese, are not as active as past researches. But a few researchers are constantly working on these areas in Japan. Moreover, they are trying to find out new methodology or new perspectives, and performing active researches on modern language and accent based on phonology and a large amount of accumulated datum. In contrast, in Korea, researches on Japanese phonology are barely surviving by only few researchers . In the research of Japanese phonology, it is not easy for Korean researchers which are not native speakers to collect primary source such as historical research data or accent data. However it is easy to access secondary source organized by Japanese researchers. The point is how to interpret collected datum phonologically. This interpretation should be based on a theory of phonology. Therefore, for Korean researchers, learning the theory of phonology should be preceded before performing researches on Japanese phonology.
