본 논문은 동사에 접속하는 "도코로다(ところだ)"의 의미와 기능에 대하여 의미와 기능의 파생관계를 중심으로 분석, 고찰 한 것이다. 동사에 접속하여 시간적인 의미를 나타내는 "도코로다(ところだ)"에 대해서는 종래에 연구사례가 많이 있으나, 실제의 예문을 분석하여 공간적인 의미를 나타내는 경우나 점을 나타내는 경우와의 관계를 언급한 연구는 종래에 이루어진 적이 없었다. 본 논문에서는 공간, 점, 시간이라고 하는 3개의 의미 및 기능에 대하여 그 파생관계를 중심으로 기술하는 것을 목표로 했다. 그 결과는 다음과 같이 정리할 수 있다. 첫째, 공간을 나타내는 경우는 전접하는 동사가 가리키는 구체적인 장소를 나타낸다. 전접동사에는 다양한 타입의 동사가 사용된다. 이 경우의 「ところ だ」는 형식명사 술어문으로 기능한다. 둘째, 공간에서 점으로 이행하는 경우는 크게 다음과 같이 2가지 경우가 있다. ①부분을 나타내는 경우는 전접하는 동사가 가리키는 추상적 부분을 나타낸다. 언어자료의 특정부분을 가리킨다는 공간성이 남아있다. 이 경우의 「ところ だ」는 형식명사 술어문으로 기능한다. ②점을 나타내는 경우는 전접하는 동사가 나타내는 어떤 점, 어떤 것을 나타낸다. 공간성은 없어져 있다. 이 경우의 「ところだ」는 형식명사 술어문으로 기능한다. 셋째, 공간에서 시간으로 이행하는 경우는 우선 공간적으로도 시간적으로도 해석할 수 있는 예문이 있다. 그리고 시간을 나타내는 경우는 전접동사의 형태에 따라 "직전", "진행", "직후"의 의미를 나타낼 수 있다. 이 경우의 「ところ だ」는 이 형태 전체로 아스펙트를 나타내는 형식으로 사용된다. 이상의 내용을 종합하면 동사에 접속하는 "도코로다(ところだ)"는 공간이 출발점적인 의미이지만 공간에서 점으로, 공간에서 시간으로 이행한 경우를 확인할 수 있고, 이 이행에는 연속성이 보인다.

This paper analyzes the meanings and functions of "tokoroda" connected with a verb using derivative relationships. In this paper, the usages of "tokoroda" are described in terms of derivative relations about the meanings and functions of space, ten, and time. The results of the study can be presented as follows. First, "tokoroda" represents the concrete place. In this case, the various types of verb are used in the front verb. "V+tokoroda" functions as a predicative sentence of pseudo noun. Second, two different cases can be considered regarding the transformations from the meaning of space to the meaning of ten. (1) In the case of implying the part, "tokoroda" means an abstract part indicated by the front verb. "V+tokoroda" also operates as a predicative sentence of pseudo noun. (2) In the case of implying the ten, "tokoroda" represents a certain ten or a certain thing associated with the front verb. "V+tokoroda" functions as a predicative sentence of pseudo noun. Third, "tokoroda" represents the transformations from the meaning of space to the meaning of time. When they are interpreted by the temporal meaning, the three meanings of "just before", "progress", or "immediately after" can be considered depending on the formats of the front verb. In this case, "V+tokoroda" is used to represent an aspect in a whole format. In conclusions, "tokoroda" connected with a verb represents a space as a starting point, but then it transforms from space to ten, and from space to time. This transformation occurs in a continuous way.
