단숙경(端淑卿)은 명(明) 중기의 여성작가로 『녹창시고(綠창詩稿)』4권을 남긴 것으로 알려져 있으나 아쉽게도 전해지지 않는다. 그녀의 시는 당도(當塗) 현지(縣誌)와 일부 문집에 14수 남아있고 그녀의 사(詞) 역시 4수만이 오늘날까지 전해지고 있다. 단숙경의 시(詩)의 내용은 크게 인생무상(人生無常), 고독(孤獨)과 수심(愁心), 자연풍광(自然風光)으로 나눌 수 있다. 단숙경의 시에는 나이 든 여인의 세상에 대한 관조가 깊이 엿보이며 주로 타향살이의 고단함에 대해 읊거나 지역 풍광에 자신의 심사를 담았다. 여기에는 이백과 관련된 작품도 여러 수(首)있다. 단숙경의 사(詞)는 모두 이별에 대해 이야기하고 있는데 이를 통해 인간의 삶에서 만날수 있는 다양한 이별의 모습을 조망해 볼 수 있다. 이별이 주는 슬프고 안타까운 이미지는 작가의 작품 속에서 다양한 모습으로 등장하지만 그 애잔하고 쓸쓸한 분위기는 네 작품모두에 깔려있는 공통된 속성이다. 종합적으로 단숙경의 시사(詩詞)작품에는 나이든 여인의 허무와 고독, 이별의 슬픔이 담겨 있다 하겠다. 작가의 허무와 고독은 오랜 타지 생활과 대자연의 풍광 앞에서 주로 드러났으며, 이별의 슬픔은 작가의 사(詞) 속에 노래로 담겼다.

Duan Shuqing was a woman poet during the mid-Ming Dynasty, and is said to have written four volumes “Green window Poems(綠창詩稿),” which, unfortunately, have not been preserved. Among her works, 14 poems remain in a local newspaper of Dangtu(當塗) and some anthologies published at that time, and only four of her verses remain today. Themes of poems written by Duan Shuqing can be largely divided into: impermanence of life, solitude, unhappiness, and natural scenery. Her poems reveal observation of an old woman toward the world, and mainly described the hardship of living away from her hometown or her appreciation of the local scenery. And many of the poems relate to Li Bai. All of the four verses written by Duan Shuqing describe parting, which shows different types of partings people experience in life. The sad and heart-breaking images of parting appear in different form in Dan’s verses, but they all convey a depressing and sorrowful atmosphere. Overall, poems and verses written by Duan Shuqing related to the futility and loneliness felt by an old woman and sadness of parting. The futility and loneliness was mainly revealed in the context of living away from her hometown and watching the natural scenery, while the sadness of parting was depicted as a song in her verses.
