漢語中許多與視覺義相關的詞, 通過隱喩規律性地引申出抽象的思考語義類。從其視覺義來看, 每類詞在語義和意象上都形成不同的類聚, 其思考義也隨之形成相應的類聚, 且視覺義的特点也同樣映射到了思考義中。這種詞義引申體現出具體語義類與抽象語義類之間的系統關聯, 同時也是“以身喩心”隱喩映射的結果, 體現了身心之間的密切關聯。這類詞義演變具有跨語言的普遍性。
