이 연구는 제주방언 정도부사의 목록을 확정하고, 그 의미를 분석하여 표준어정도부사와의 의미와 쓰임을 비교하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 제주방언과 관련된 어휘 자료집과 사전, 선행 연구들을 대상으로 제주방언 정도부사 목록을 확보하였다. 또한 정도부사를 분류한 선행 연구들의 기준을 검토하고 적용하여, 제주방언 정도부사를 6가지로 분류하고 의미와 쓰임을 살펴보았다. 연구 결과, ‘대상에 대한 평가의 성격이 강한 정도부사’의 부류에 속한 제주방언 정도부사에는 ‘깨, 너믜, 제벱, 워년/원간, □못, □못, 막, 잘도, 하도, 뒈우/뒈게, 폭싹, 슬피/실큰/실큿/실피, 시시리실피, 두루셍이/두루젱이’가 있었다. ‘대상과 비교의 성격이 강한 정도부사’의 부류에 속한 제주방언 정도부사에는 ‘□장, 질, 활씬/훌씬, 두루’가 있었다. ‘수량 표시의 성격이 강한 정도부사’의 부류에 속한 제주방언 정도부사에는 ‘거자/거줌/거진/건줌, 바레기, 조곰/조꼼, 아쓱/아씩, 족족, 하영, 해, □꼼/□□, 족영’가 있었다. ‘수량에 대한 평가의 성격이 강한 정도부사’의 부류에 속한 제주방언 정도부사에는 ‘제우/제위, 다믄/달믄, 미러/밀어, □딱/멘딱/□도/모신딱이/문짝/□/□짝/모도/무짝, 줴다, □끗드로/□그뚜르/□긋드로/□긋디로’가 있었다. ‘양태적 성격이 강한 정도부사’의 부류에 속한 제주방언 정도부사에는 ‘오꼿’이 있었으며, ‘부정의 성격이 강한 정도부사’의 부류에 속한 제주방언 정도부사에는 ‘그닷/그덧, 베랑/벨로/벨로이, 영, 원, □엇이’가 있었다. 본고는 제주방언 정도부사의 목록을 체계화하여 어휘 의미론적으로 살펴보고, 표준어와 비교해봄으로써 제주방언 정도부사의 의미를 고찰했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

This study aims to confirm and classify degree adverbs of Jeju dialect in terms of semantics and pragmatics. Previous discussions on degree adverbs in Jeju dialect were mainly based on a few words. Therefore, this study analyzes degree adverbs in Jeju dialect through the the manual effort on dictionary and preceding research. Degree adverbs in Jeju dialect can be classified into six sections according to pragmatical feature and semantic feature. As a result, Jeju dialect ‘kkae, neo-mu, je-beb, wo-nyen/won-gan, j□-mos, s□-mos, mak, jaldo, hado, dwe-u/dwe-ge, pok-ssak, seul-pi/sil-keun/sil-keus/sil-pi, si-si-ri-sil-pi, du-ru-seng-i, du-ru-jeng-i’ belong in the degree adverbs with the characteristics of an evaluation of the target. Jeju dialect ‘go-jang, jil, hwal-ssin, hul-ssin, du-ru’ belong in the degree adverbs with the characteristics of comparison with target. Jeju dialect ‘geo-ja/geo-jum/geo-jin/geon-jum, ba-re-gi, jo-gom/jo-kkom, a-sseuk/a-ssik, jok-jok, ha-yeong, hae, h□-kkom/h□-ssol, jok-yeong’ belong in the degree adverbs with the characteristics of various quantities.Jeju dialect ‘je-u/je-wi, d a - m e u n / d a l - m e u n , m i - r e o / m i l - e o , mon-ttak/men-ttak/mo-do/mo-sin-ttak-i/mun-jjak/mon/mon-jjak/mo -do/mu-jjak,jwe-da,hon-kkeus-deu-ro/h□n-keu-ttu-reu/h□n-keus-deuro/ hon-keus-di-ro’ belong in the degree adverbs with the characteristics of an evaluation of various quantities. Jeju dialect ‘o-kkos’ belongs in the degree adverbs with the characteristics of aspect, Jeju dialect ‘keu-das/keu-deos, be-rang/bel-ro/bel-ro-i, yeong, won, hon-eos-i’ belong in the degree adverbs with the characteristics of negation. This study is meaningful by categorizing degree adverbs of Jeju dialect and comparing Jeju dialctal words to standard Korean.
