최근 들어 한국에서는 두 문학 사이의 상호텍스트성이 고찰되기 시작하였다. 본고는 그 일련의 연구들을 바탕으로 이상 문학과 마키노 문학에 있어서의 `신경증적 양상`을 비교 분석하였다. 첫째, `밤낮의 전환`에서 밤낮의 대립상은 낮 즉 생활적 자아와 밤 즉 예술적 자아의 대립을 의미하는 것으로 파악되었다. 낮의 수면은 생활적 자아의 소거로 볼 수 있으며, 깨어있는 밤의 시간대는 예술적 자아의 비상 의지를 나타낸 것이다. 둘째, 골방생활은 새나 박제의 이미지와 함께 제시되는 경향이 있으므로, 예술적 자아의 비상에의 좌절을 나타내는 것으로 파악되었다. 셋째, 신경증적 양상은 자아 분열과 같은 양상으로 확인되었다. 그것은 생활적 자아와 예술적 자아의 분열을 겪는 자신과 그것을 보는 자아, 그리고 그것을 서술하는 자아가 각각 분립하는 형태로, 두 작가는 개인적 신경증의 체험을 글쓰기의 방법으로 포착한 것으로 보인다. 넷째, `죽음`은 일종의 `제의`나 재생의 욕구로 볼 수 있다. 즉 그들의 죽음은 문학텍스트로 인생을 `덮어쓰기`한 경우로 파악되며, 마키노가 죽음을 통해 텍스트를 완성했다고 한다면 이상의 경우는 텍스트를 통해 죽음을 완성시켜간 느낌이다.

Recently, relations between the literature of Lee Sang and Makino Shinichi have been studies in Korea. This paper is a comparative analysis on neurotic aspects of Lee`s and Makino`s literature based on those previous studies. First of all, a confrontation between day and night in a “switch of day and night” was understood as a confrontation between life ego and art ego. Sleep in daytime can be seen as the elimination of life ego, and being awake in nighttime expresses art ego`s will to leap up. Second, as closet life is usually shown with images of birds or stuffed animals, it was found that the closet life expresses frustration in the art ego`s leap-up. Third, it was confirmed that neurotic aspects are the same aspects as self disunion. This is a confrontation between the self who went through divisions between life ego and art ego and the other self who describe the division. It seems that the two writers found their personal neurotic experiences as writing methods.
