본 연구는 교수요목부터 제7차 교육과정까지 작문 교육과정의 변천을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 교육과정에 대한 기존의 접근 방식에서 벗어나 작문을 무엇으로 규정할 것인가 그리고 그에 따라 구성 요소들은 어떻게 설정할 것인가, 이를 교수 체계로 재구성할 시 어떤 관점을 취할 것인가 등의 사항을 중심으로 각 시기별 특징들을 분석하였다. 교수요목부터 3차까지의 작문 교육과정은 경필 및 서식류 작성 등에 초점이 맞춰 기능적이고 실무적인 작문 교육이 이루어져 왔다. 4차 작문 교육과정에서는 수사학의 영향을 받아 작문 교육의 체계 및 내용을 새롭게 구성하였다. 특히 작문 교육의 중요한 개념들(통일성/일관성/강조성, 설명/서사/묘사/논증 등)들이 이 시기에 등장하였다. 5차부터 7차까지 작문 교육과정은 주로 인지주의 이론에 바탕으로 두어 설계되었다. 특히 회기적 상호작용 모형을 교육과정에 적용하여 사고와 표현, 작문 행위의 특성과 그 과정 등이 주요 사항으로 제시되었다.
The purpose of this study is to analyze how composition`s curriculum had been revised and changed from Syllabus period to the 7th curriculum. So, it is necessary to analyze composition`s curriculum systematically. First of all, this study is to analyze what kind of background and factors affected the relevant curriculum for each revision. In the process of analysis, this study deals with the overall flow of composition`s curriculum and the specific changes of what to define composition, how to configure the components and what to take perspective when reconstructing this into a teaching system. And this study is to discuss the diachronic review of composition`s curriculum. From Syllabus period to 3th curriculum, hand lettering and filling out forms are at the center in composition` curriculum. In 4th curriculum the contents of composition`s education have been systematized by the influence of rhetoric. Especially, the key concepts of composition`s education(unity/coherence/emphasis, exposition/narration/description /argument etc) emerged during this period. From 5th to 7th curriculum had been influenced by cognitive theory so had been emphasized the internal thinking and composition`s regression.
