평균수명의 연장과 의료기술 발달 등의 영향으로 노인인구의 증가와 더불어 노령장애인의 급격한 증가에도 불구하고 삶의 질을 높이기 위한 이들을 위한 서비스제공은 미비하다. 본연구는 노인복지관에 통합된 서비스제공을 위해 노인들의 장애노인에 대한 태도를 조사하고성별, 연령, 장애유무, 교육수준, 종교유무에 따라 이들의 태도에 대한 차이를 알아보았다. 노인복지관에 노인들을 대상으로 990개의 설문지를 회부하고 그 중 완성된 705개의 설문지를 분석 자료로 사용하여, 독립표본 t 검증과 분산분석(ANOVA)을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 노인들은 장애인에 대하여 전체적으로 중립적이거나 다소 부정적인 태도를 가지고 있었으나, 장애인을 친구로 사귀고 싶은 의지나 이성으로써의 호감과 같이 장애인과의 개인적 관계와 관련된 항목은 상대적으로 긍정적인 것으로 보여졌다. 성별, 교육수준, 장애유무, 나이는 노인들의 장애인에 대한 태도에 영향을 미쳤으며, 종교는 영향을 미치지 않았다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 앞으로 장애노인에 대한 실증적 연구의 필요성 및 제언에 대하여 논의하였다.

Because of an aging population and the advent of new medical techniques, there has been a significant increase in the number of older people with disabilities. However, there are few studies on services for those people. A survey of elderly people’s attitudes toward people with disabilities was conducted to provide inclusive service programs in a senior welfare center. Total 990 people were asked to participate in the survey, and 705 people responded. The independent variables included gender, age, disability, educational level, and religion. The results showed that elderly people’s overall attitudes toward people with disabilities were more negative than toward people without disabilities. However, they felt relatively comfortable interacting with and holding personal relationships with people with disabilities (i.e., having a relationship and socializing with people with disabilities). Elderly people’s attitudes were found to be significantly affected by their gender, education level, and their own experience with disabilities, but little affected by religion. The Implications and suggestions for future study are discussed in this paper.
