『삼국유사』 「조신」은 선학들의 꾸준한 연구가 이루어졌다. 또한 「조신」을 원전으로 한 상호텍스트성 연구도 활발하게 이루어졌다. 이들은 남성주인공 `조신`이 꿈을 통해 자아 확장을 이루는 이야기이므로 조신을 초점화한 것이었다. 이후 조신을 각색한 작품들에서 조신은 큰 변화를 겪지 않지만 여성의 변화는 크다. 따라서 본 논문은 여성주인공들이 조신과의 관계 속에서 어떻게 자신들의 주체성을 내면화하고 있는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 본 연구의 대상은 원전과 달라진 여성을 찾을 수 있는 이광수의 중편소설 『꿈』과 배창호의 영화 『꿈』이다. 여성상의 변용을 살피기 위해 여성주인공을 주체로 설정하였다. 「조신」의 김씨랑은 관음의 화신으로서 등장하지만 이를 여성 주체의 관점에서 자율적인 여성상으로 바라보았다. 이러한 김씨랑은 이광수의 소설과 배창호의 영화에서 달례로 변용되어 등장함을 통해 본고는 변용된 여성상을 고찰하였다. 먼저 이들 여성들의 주체되기에 나타나는 자신의 존재적 목소리의 형성을 살펴보았다. 이들은 조신과의 친밀한 정도를 통해 존재적 목소리를 드러내었다. 이들은 현모양처와 인고라는 삶의 양태를 보여준다. 이는 관음의 변용적 이미지이며, 여성에게만 국한된 남성 중심의 여성상임을 논의하였다. 또한 여성주인공들은 조신뿐만 아니라 여성주인공을 둘러싼 세계상과 상호보완적 관계가 이루어지지 못함으로써 온전한 주체되기에 실패한 것으로 논의 하였다. 오늘날 이와 같은 여성상들은 한 여성에게만, 또는 한 시대에 국한되는 것이 아니라 동시다발적으로 대면할 수 있다. 이러한 점에서 이전과는 달리 여성의 `주체되기`는 역동적이고 끊임없이 변화해 갈 것이다. 따라서 매체 속의 여성상은 사회 집합적 형상이기도 하므로 심도 있는 고찰이 필요함을 제언하였다.

The studies on 「Josin」 in 『The heritage of the three states』have been consistently carried out by scholars. In addition, the intertextuality studies on 「Josin」 as a primary source have been actively conducted. These works have focused on the male character, Josin, in that Josin in the stories forms a self extension through a dream. Although Josin in the adaptations didnt not experience a big change, the change of woman was large. Therefore, this study looked how female characters internalize their subjectivities in the relationship with Josin. The subjects of this study are Lee Gwang Su`s novel 『The Dream』, and Bae Chang Ho`s movie 『The Dream』 where the changed women from original text can be found. In order to identify the transformation of woman`s image, the woman character was regarded as a main subject. Although Kimssirang in the tale appeared as the personification of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, this paper looked this feature of Kimssirang was an autonomous woman`s image from the perspective of the female subject. This paper considered the transformed woman`s image from the source that Kimssirang had been transformed as Dalrye in Lee Gwang Su`s novel and Bae Chang Ho`s movie. It was examined that the formation of own existential voice of woman when woman becomes the subject. They revealed their existential voice in accordance with the intimate degree with Josin. They showed the living aspects as a good wife, a wise mother and the endurance. These were discussed as the transformed image of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and androcentric woman`s image which is limited to woman. In addition, it was examined that woman character failed to become an intact subject because they could not achieve the mutually complementary relationship not only with Josin but also with the world image surrounding them. Today, the images of women like Kimssirang and Dalrye are not limited to just a woman or a era. It is possible to face them in the multiple simultaneous situations. In this respect, `becoming a subject` of woman will be dynamic and continue to change than ever before. Thus, this paper suggested that the intense consideration is necessary because the image of woman in the media is also a social collective shape.
