이 논문에서는 1990년 전후에 시 분야에서 나타난 탈근대의 특성을 유하, 장석남, 기형도의 시를 중심으로 분석했다. 이러한 분석은 근대화론의 인식틀-지배/저항의 이분법, 발전·극복에 대한 믿음·낙관-에서 `탈`하는 독특한 탈근대성이 시 분야에서 잘 드러났음을 보여줬다. 이 시기의 탈근대성 논의는 주로 진보적 근대화론에 관한 것이었는데, 이 논문에서는 주목할 만한 전환기의 시집군 대상으로 탈근대적인 변화의 양상을 세밀하게 검토했다.29) 먼저, 유하의 시편에서는 진보적 민족문학론에서 제기됐던 지배/저항의 이분법적 차이가 연기되는 공간인 무림과 압구정동을 살펴봤다. 무림은 지배에 맞선 저항 행위의 역사적·사회적인 정당성·필연성이 설명되지 않는 공간이었고, 압구정동은 모든 것이 욕망으로 치환되어서 지배/저항의 이분법적 인식틀이 해체·재구성되는 공간이었다. 그리고, 장석남의 시편에서는 빈곤이라는 소재가 보수적 근대화론의 담론 바깥에서 인간존재의 근원적인 결여와 그로 인한 슬픔을 보여주는 사건으로 형상화됐다. 그의 시에서 과거의 빈곤과 그로 인한 슬픔은 인간존재의 근원적인 결여를 보여주는 사건이었고, 나아가서 동시대의 자기 존재 자체를 구성하는 현재의 사건이었다. 마지막으로, 기형도의 시편에서는 미성숙으로부터 해방되고 근대문명을 전개·발전시켜 온 계몽의 기획이 비판되었다. 근대문명이 미계몽된 사회를 문명화한다는 계몽의 기획 혹은 근대화론의 발전·극복 논리가 오히려 인간을 억압·위협 했고, 인간의 초라한 실존은 계몽의 기획이 일정 부분 실패했음을 보여주는 상징적인 표상이 되었다. 1990년 전후에 출간된 유하, 장석남, 기형도의 시집에서는 보수적·진보적 근대화론의 발전·극복 논리에서 근본적으로 벗어나서 지배/저항의 이분법적 차이가 연기되거나 발전·극복에 대한 믿음·낙관이 회의·의심·비판·해체되는 양상이 잘 나타났다.

This dissertation will understand the post-modernity discourse. The meaning and effect of the post-modernity are discovered in poems of Yoo ha, Jang suk-nam, Ki hyung-do. In their poem, writer observe the sense of post-modernity. The sense of post-modernity is a sense which escapes from dichotomy logic of idea and experiences the actuality. Yoo ha keeps the attitude of actuality criticism from the tradition of minjung-poetry. Jang suk-nam considers seriously a sentiment not ration in the tradition of lyric. Ki hyung-do got a civilization criticism from the modernism-poem. The poem of three poets searched the literature logic from the post-modern actuality. Yoo ha showed a criticism against minjokmunhak. Jang suk-nam enjoys the sentiment itself. It is being`s sentiment. Ki hyung-do showed the spirit of the tragedy. Between 1970∼80`s and 1990`s, post-modernity is word which reflects the change of epistemology structure. The age of ideology is gone, new episteme is coming. This situation is showed by in poems of Yoo ha, Jang suk-nam, Ki hyung-do.
