Narratives are produced, passed and stored in linguistic forms. By means of media the original linguistic story is often being adapted into another forms. In this process, a medium functions as a means for perception and memory, but also as a significant condition to define the meaning and character of the narrative. Thus, for an understanding of the interpretation and adaption of a narrative into other forms, the consideration of the media is indispensable. This article is a consideration of how Loreley of the German folklore is represented in other media. Regarding the material of Loreley, the literary contents are adapted into audio-visual representations, so that a modulation of a diegetic medium to a mimetic medium has to be assumed. In this process the meaning and narrative of the original story will be altered, extended, and adapted transmedially.
