조기천의 서사시 『백두산』은 계열이 다른 여러 텍스트들 중에서 내용의 삭 제가 없고 수정이 안된 첫째 계열의 판본인 1955년판 『백두산』을 연구대상으 로 해야 의미의 관계를 빠뜨리지 않고 전체적으로 파악할 수 있다. 이 텍스트 는 전체적으로 `인민-(항일 빨찌산)-김일성-(소련 빨찌산)-소련`의 연대 속에 서 그 의미관계를 파악해야 하는 텍스트임을 확인할 수 있다. 세 가지로 계열화할 수 있는 조기천 『백두산』 텍스트의 의미의 차이는 북 한의 정치사, 특히 북한과 소련(러시아)의 정치관계의 변화에 따른 차이에 따 른 것이므로 『백두산』은 무엇보다 북한정치사와 연관하여 살펴보아야 제대로 파악할 수 있는 텍스트가 된다. 그리고 조기천의 『백두산』이 문학작품이 라 하더라도 북한에서는 그 내용을 사실 그대로 받아들여졌고 이런 과정 자 체가 정치적 의도와 효과를 지닌 것으로 해석할 가능성이 큰 것이다. 이에 따 라, 첫째 계열인 1955년판 텍스트를 북한 정치사와 연관하여 살펴보았다. 본 론을 통해서, 실제의 김일성 항일무장투쟁과 『백두산』에 과장으로 형상화된 항일무장투쟁과 왜곡으로 형상화된 소련의 역할을 비교·검토하여 그 정치 적 효과를 파악하고, 실제 북한의 해방기 정치사에서의 김일성 중심의 북조 선 건국 역정과 『백두산』에 형상화된 해방기 김일성과 소련의 형상화를 비 교·검토하여 그 정치적 효과를 파악하였다. 이를 보면, 소련을 후원세력으로 한 김일성이 자신을 중심으로 한 항일무 장투쟁세력을 건국의 주역으로 부각시키고자 하는 정치적 정략의 일환으로 『백두산』을 널리 활용하였고 조기천의 『백두산』은 바로 김일성의 상징적인 주체를 확립해 가는 데에 기여했음을 알 수 있게 된다.

This thesis aims to investigate the Interrelation between Jo Gi-Chun`s Baekdusan 1955 Text and the political history of North Korea. The results of this thesis are summarized as the following: First, this thesis investigates differences between several Baekdusan Texts, that is, 1955 Text, 1986 Text(1987 Text, 1989 Text) and 1995 Text(2004 Text). And it examines we should practical use 1955 Text in order to study Jo Gi-Chun`s Baekdusan. Second, it investigates that we should read Baekdusan 1955 Text (before-1955 Text) by focusing on the political history of North Korea in terms of the accurate interpretation for the study on Jo Gi-Chun`s Baekdusan. Third, it investigates that the configurations of Kim Il-Sung and his political process in the Jo Gi-Chun`s Baekdusan are exggerate by way of the Interrelation between Jo Gi-Chun`s Baekdusan 1955 Text(before-1955 Text) and the political history of North Korea. Fourth, it is claimed that exaggerated configurations of Kim Il-Sung and his political process in the Jo Gi-Chun`s Baekdusan are very effective politically on 1946-1948 years in the North Korea. Finally, it is claimed that the conclusions of this thesis are valuable to apply the study on another literature of North Korea.
