본고는 대마도 정벌 다음해인 1420년 일본에 파견된 회례사 송희경의 『노송당일본행록(老松堂日本行錄)』의 이본을 비교·분석하였다. 『노송당일본행록』은 일본과 조선을 오가며 전해졌으며, 그 전래 경위는 한일 양국의 역사적 관계 그 자체를 보여준다. 본고에서는 일본과 한국에 현존하는 『노송당일본행록』의 여러 본들을 제시하였다. 『노송당일본행록』은 현재 16세기 중엽에 필사된 이노우에본과 18세기말 후손들에 의해 간행된 목활자본, 이렇게 2종의 본이 남아있다. 이 2종을 비교하여 그 속에 담긴 불교와 일본에 대한 인식을 분석하였다. 그 결과 이노우에본은 불교에 관대하며, 일본에 대해 우호적인 태도를 보였다. 그에 비해 목활자본은 불교에 대해 무관심했고, 일본을 다소 이적시하였다. 이러한 상이점은 목활자본이 간행된 시기에 발생했다고 추정된다. 즉, 목활자본에서는 이노우에본의 문자가 변환되거나, 서문의 내용이 편집 혹은 삭제되는 등, 18세기를 살았던 간행자의 의도가 엿보이기 때문이다. 이노우에본이 노송당 당대 혹은 임진왜란 이전의 16세기 조선의 분위기를 나타낸다고 한다면, 목활자본은 18세기 조선사대부의 일반적인 대일본인식을 보여준다 할 수 있다.

This paper aims to analyze Ilbon Haengnok (日本行錄), a Korean official`s Japan travel diary, written by Nosongdang Song Huigyong in 1420. Before Nosongdang`s travel, in 1419, Choson Korea attacked Tsushima because of Wako. This would make it difficult to perform his work as an envoy. The Japanese doubted that Korea would attack their main land. After finishing his task restoring peace between Korea and Japan, he wrote the diary about his experience in Japan as poems, using the Chinese language. This book is translated into two different versions, which are the Inoue text (井上本: Songsun corrected the original text in 1556) and the text printed with wooden type (木活字本:Nosongdang`s descendants printed it newly in 1800). The Inoue text showed objective and affirmative views of Japan and Buddhism, and was not conscious of Ming China much. The printed text expressed a conservative point of view of Japan as an uncivilized country, that did not mention Buddhism enough, and looked particularly to China as the center of culture. This would be the change of the general perception among Korean elites for about 250 years.
