해방기 악극단은 대중 취향을 반영하는데 적극적이었다. 악극은 비가극, 희가극, 쇼라는 명칭으로 공연하였으며, 영화와 동시 공연하는 방식도 도입하고 있었다. 해방기에 활동한 악극단이 출현하였는데 이전부터 있었던 악극단들은 기존 작품을 확장하거나 운영 노선을 변경하면서 극단을 유지하였다. 조선악극단의 경우 기획자와 주도 세력의 변화로 여러 개의 쇼를 통합하여 2부의 구성을 정립하고, 친근한 고전 서사(영화, 중국 작품)를 활용하여 건전한 악극을 만들기 위해 노력하였다. 반도가극단의 경우 다른 극단과 협업을 통해 쇼적인 부분을 보완하였으며, 기존 작품은 재배치를 통해 화해와 행복이라는 결말을 도출하였다. 해방기 시기악극들은 고전에서 소재를 가져오면서 무대를 화려하게 채우는 데 집중했으며, 감성에 기댄 구성으로 관객의 호응이 높았다. 당대 대중문화의 다수를 차지했던 악극은 개선이 필요한 장르로 끊임없이 지적받았는데, 이 부분은 극단 운영에 큰 부담으로 작용하였다. 이 시기 악극단들은 당대 인기 요소를 반영하면서 천편일률적인 형태가 되었다. 이는 예술 대신 흥행을 선택한 악극의 다음 행로에 영향을 미치게 되었다. 그러나 해방기 악극단의 전략은 음악이 포함된 대중극의 기본 형태를 마련했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

The Akgeuk dans during the liberation period were active to refect the tastes of the public. Akgeuk was performed as various names of a tragic opera, a comic opera, and a show and sometimes was conducted with a movie at the same time. Besides, Already established Akgeuk-dans such as Chosun Akgeuk-dan, Bando Gageuk-dan, Lamila Gageuk-dan which tried to maintain themselves by developing their existing performances or changing their lines. Chosun Ackgeuk-dan came to reject a show and tried to make use of familiar narratives(movies, Chinese works) out of other genres which had already been popular and create a sound Akgeuk due to the change of a promoter(planner) and leading forces. Bando Gageuk-dan tried to deliver a message of reconciliation and happiness by doing a joint performance and rearranging the existing works. While classics focused on filling the stage visually, Akgeuk increased its composition which appealed to the public emotion. Although Akgeuk was popular during the liberation period, the evaluation about it was not good over the years. However, the strategy of Akgeuk-dan had a same way with a popular drama which included music. The trials of Akgeuk-dan during the period had an effect on genres of popular arts directly or indirectly, consequently be shared.
