본 연구에서는 미혼 커플을 대상으로 역기능적 의사소통의 유사성과 관계 만족 간의 관계를 살펴보았다. 역기능적 의사소통의 유사성은 실제 유사성, 지각의 유사성, 및 지각의 정확성을 포함하였으며, 각각의 유사성에 대하여 프로파일 수준 유사성과 프로파일 형태 유사성을 모두 산출하였다. 설문 자료는 193쌍의 미혼 커플에게서 수집하였으며, 회귀분석을 사용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 역기능적 의사소통의 실제 유사성은 남자의 관계 만족을 유의하게 설명하지 못하였으나, 역기능적 의사소통의 실제 유사성 중 수준 유사성은 여자의 관계 만족을 유의하게 설명하였다. 역기능적 의사소통의 남자의 지각의 수준 유사성은 남자의 관계 만족을 유의하게 설명하였고, 여자의 지각의 수준 유사성은 여자의 관계 만족을 유의하게 설명하였다. 남자의 지각의 정확성은 남자의 관계만족을 설명하지 못하였고, 마찬가지로 여자의 지각의 정확성은 여자의 관계 만족을 설명하지 못했다. 본 연구의 결과를 논의하였고, 본 연구의 제한점과 의의 및 상담에의 시사점을 포함하였다.

This study examined the effects of similarities in dysfucntional communication on relationship satisfaction among dating couples. Similarities in dysfucntional communication included actual similarity, perceptual similarity, and perceptual accuracy, and each of the similarities was measured with profile level similarity and profile shape similarity. Survey data were collected from 193 dating couples, and analyzed using regression analyses. Actual profile level similarity significantly explained the variance of women`s relationship satisfaction, but not that of men`s relationship satisfaction. Men`s perceptual level similarity significantly explained the variance of men`s relationship satisfaction and women`s perceptual level similarity explained the variance of women`s relationship satisfaction. Men`s perceptual accuracy did not significantly explain men`s relationship satisfaction and women`s perceptual accuracy did not explain women`s relationship satisfaction. Study limitations, suggestions for the future study, and the implication for counseling practice were discussed.
