The Solution-Focused group counseling is a useful tool that can help to built the solutions based on strengths, skills and resources in a relatively short time, so it has been applied to various fields such as counseling, psychotherapy, social welfare, mental health, and education. So far, 922 dissertations and 164 domestic journals have been published. At this point, there is a need to develop guidelines for the effective Solution-Focused group counseling by integrating researches. This study examined the key features of the group counseling applying the Solution-Focused Approach, and the Multi-Level meta analysis was conducted using the HLM 7.0 to analyze the effect and predicting variable. Among empirical studies of the group counseling applying the Solution-Focused Approach from 2001 to 2016, studies in domestic journals were selected, which includes at least three or more among the seven key elements of the Solution-Focused Approach. Moreover, they had to meet three or more among six criteria of the APA. As a result, 114 effective sizes of a total of 37 papers were calculated, and then the overall effect size and the factors that affect the effect size were examined. First, approximately 95% of studies were applied to people who need specific interventions or the normals, and mainly utilized for emotional, social, and behavioral areas. Second, the overall average effect size of the Solution-Focused group counseling program was 1.223, which was a very large effect size. Third, a group of high school students were more effective than a group of adults, and a group of the normal participants were more effective than a group of the mixed participants. Fourth, it was found that the more seven key elements of the Solution-Focused Approach are used, the more group counseling programs are effective. The groups which was from six to 10 sessions or less than one hour per session were more effective. Lastly, the implications of these results were discussed along with a suggestion for follow-up studies.
