이 글은 재조 일본인 유력계층의 사회교화단체인 `녹기연맹`과 김성민의 일본어 장편소설 『녹기연맹』의 `내선일체` 이데올로기의 연관성을 바탕으로 조선과 일본이 각각 직면한 민족적 아이덴티티의 향방을 고찰한 것이다. `녹기연맹` 단체와 소설 『녹기연맹』은 각각 현실과 이념에서 `내선일체`가 실현되는 상상적 공간을 일상에 창출하면서 `내선평등` 이데올로기를 관철시키는 근거로 기능했다. 일반적으로 `내선일체` 이데올로기는 제국 일본이 식민지 조선인을 일본 국민으로 포섭하기 위한 일방적인 강제였다는 점에서 조선인의 정체성에 대한 심각한 위기로 파악되지만, 동시에 `만세일계`의 천황제를 중심으로 한 제국 일본으로서도 그것은 일본의 정체성에 대한 위협으로 작용했다. 즉 제국 일본은 식민지 조선인을 `일본 국민`으로 동화함으로써 지배적 지위를 상실하게 되는 역설에 봉착했으며, 식민지 조선은 자신의 정체성을 말소하면서 `의식적으로` 제국 일본에 자신을 동일시함으로써 오히려 타자성과 정체성이 보다 선명하게 드러나는 모순에 직면하게 되었다.

This paper examined the overall picture of the national identity that Korea and Japan are confronting based on the correlation of the Nasun-Ilchae ideology between `The Nokgi Union`, a social reformation group of a high class of Japanese now in power, and 『The Nokgi Union』, a full-length novel written in Japanese by Seongmin Kim. The Group `The Nokgi Union` and the novel 『The Nokgi Union』 function as an evidence that propagates `The Naesun-Pyeongdeung` (Egalitarianism on both Japan and Chosun) ideology, creating an imaginary room in everyday life where `Naesun-Ilchae` crops up. Generally, The `Naesun-Ilchae` ideology is not only figured out as a serious crisis on Koreans` identity in that it was an unconsentual coercion to bring Korean over to Japanese people. But at the same time, this functioned as a intimidation to Japanese`s identity as The Empire of Japan which centered the Emperor system of `The Mangyeilse (The emperors unbroken for ages eternal)` Therefore, The Empire of Japan was faced with a paradox that they lost dominant status by assimilate Korean to Japanese people, and the colonized Korea was confronted with a contradiction that otherness and identity appeared, oddly enough, more clear by `consciously` identifying themselves with The Empire of Japan and eliminating their identity.
