After Modern Korean Poetry, there have been many concepts for `I` on the text, for examples, poet, lyric self, poetic self, persona, speaker, and speaking subject etc. Nevertheless they have all different theoretical grounds and point of views about poetry, they have been used careless. To support to strict study about the poetry, this study aims at examination the various concepts about `I`on the text and making them terminology. The `lyric self` is used the most ordinarily. It roots the Romantist view that poetry is the expression of poet`s emotion. There are not different between `I`on the text and real poet, but `lyric self` is different with everyday `I` and fictional `I`. This concept is a production of response to construct the modern genre system with three great genres. The `persona` and the `speaker` are the new concepts, after appearance of the viewpoint that poetry is the autonomous linguistic construction instead of the the expression of poet`s emotion. They are regarded as an abstract entity to speak the poetry as an utterance. but the historical poet. The `speaking subject` is rooted on the viewpoint that poetry are not an simple linguistic autonomous construction but a discourse. What the speaking subject who lives in special context speaks is the poetry as a utterance, the poetry is worked out after reading by the reader as an other `speaking subject`. Because they have different ground, we must use them strictly. If we could not change the careless usage because of convention, we should know the difference between them at least.
