본고의 연구목적은 북한 `조선작가동맹`의 기관지인 월간 『조선문학』의 2003년도 12권의 연구를 통해 북한문학의 현재적 모습을 검토하는 데에 있다. 2000년대 북한의 신년사 `제목`을 검토하면 2000년대 북한 사회의 현실적 좌표와 방향성을 점검할 수 있다. 즉 신년사의 요체는 기실 `선군의 기치`와 `강성대국건설`의 두 가지 핵심 내용으로 요약된다. 그 중에서 “위대한 선군기치 따라 공화국의 존엄과 위력을 높이 떨치자”라는 2003년의 신년공동사설 제목은 북한 당국이 `선군`의 기치 하에 `공화국의 존엄과 위력`이라는 자존감을 세우려는 한 해로 2003년을 잡고 있음을 보여준다. 북핵 위기 속에서 『조선문학』 2003년 1월호는 `머리글`에서부터 김정일에 대한 `절대적 숭배`와 그의 `사상과 의도`로만 창작·생활하는 `선군시대의 작가`가 되자고 주장한다. 이러한 논리는 북한에서의 문학이 체제 위기 극복의 계몽적 선봉부대 역할을 감당해야 함을 보여준다. 이렇듯 `선군`이란 구호는 2003년 내내 북미 간의 긴장이 고조되는 가운데 체제 방어 논리를 강제하는 담론적 상징으로 작동한다. 특히 2003년의 『조선문학』은 수령이 부재한 공간에서 선군혁명사상을 앞세우며 `당-군-민`의 삼위일체 속에서 김정일에 대한 절대적 충성을 토대로 `선군혁명문학`의 기치를 높이 들고 있다. 하지만 2003년 『조선문학』 12권을 검토하면 실제 작품에서는 상부에서 내려오는 담론적 지침이 왜곡 발현되거나 문학의 심미적 기능으로 인해 현실적 욕망의 결을 보여주기도 한다. 즉 사회주의 현실 주제를 다룬 작품에서는 체제(지배담론)와 현실(욕망) 사이에서의 미세한 갈등과 균열들이 내포되어 있는 것이다.

This study aims to reveal contemporary North Korean Literature`s current by studying monthly magazine < Cho-sun Literature > which published by `North Korean writers` Union`. According to the `Titles` of North Korean New Year`s address in 2000s, contemporary North Korean society`s goals are `value of Sun-goon(aheading army)` and `building a strong nation`. The title of 2003 New Year`s address, "Let`s announce the dignity and power of our Republic as following the great value of `Sun-goon(aheading army)`.", was showing that North Korean Government was trying to recover the pride of North Korean by `value of Sun-goon(aheading army)` During North Korean nuclear crisis in 2003, < Cho-sun Literature > in January 2003 emphasized to be a writer of `Sun-goon(aheading army)`s period` by writing and living followed Kim Jung-il`s will. This emphasis is showing that North Korean literature can be the enlightenment vanguard in the time of crisis. The propaganda of `Sun-goon(aheading army)` was a symbol of defending system in 2003 when the tension was increasing between North Korea and U.S.A.. Especially < Cho-sun Literature > in 2003 was trying very hard to `revolutionary literature following `Sun-goon(aheading army)``. However, real literary works showed that the order of party was twisted, or realistic desire was evoked. This means that the real literary works of realistic theme of soviet include a conflict between system(control discourse) and the real(individual desire).
