이 논문에서는 조선시대 언간 자료에 내포된 구어적 성격을 살펴보기 위하여 두 가지 음운 환경에 적용하는 음운 현상의 출력형을 중점적으로 다루었다. 하나는 `ㄴ$ㄹ` 연쇄에서 나타나는 역행적 유음화와 `ㄹ` 비음화이고, 나머지는 ㄷ 구개음화이다. 전자에서는 하나의 음운 환경에 관여하는 두 가지 음운 현상이 한글편지에서는 어떻게 수용되는지, 그 전개 양상을 분석하였으며 후자에서는 하나의 음운 현상에 대해 화자(또는 발신자)가 받아들이는 수용 양상을 밝혔다. 조선시대 언간 자료의 실태를 규명하는 논의가 왕성할 필요성은 두말할 나위가 없다. 또한 언간 자료를 연구 대상으로 삼아 기존의 국어사 연구에서 부족했거나 빈칸으로 남은 국어사적 문제점을 규명하는 작업도 계속 진행될 필요성도 있다. 그러나 이제는 국어사 문헌 자료와 조선시대 언간 자료가 국어사적으로 상이한 점은 무엇인지 밝히는 연구가 활발히 진행되어야 할 때로 판단된다.

I looked into the colloquial character of Korean letters in the Joseon Dynasty. It focuses on the two linguistic phenomenon in particular. One is `ㄹ` nasalization and reversal liquidization in the `ㄴ$ㄹ` chain. The other is a t-palatalization. I have looked into how two phonological situations are engaged in a single phonological environment in the former. And the latter looked at the acceptance aspects of the speakers(or the sender) for one phonological phenomenon. It is important to clarify the circumstances of the Joseon Dynasty`s eongan materials. Also, it is necessary to fill out a piece of work that lacks Korean history. However, detailed discussions should be made detailing how different Korean literature literature and Korean letters in the Joseon Dynasty are different from Korean linguistics.
