이 논문에서는 한창훈 소설에 나타나는 여성성의 지향과 젠더화된 수사들을 에코페미니즘의 관점에서 검토하고자 한다. 한창훈 소설의 에코페미니즘은 여성주의의 입장에서 생태문제에 관심을 두는 것이 아니라, 그보다는 생태주의의 관점에서 젠더적 관점을 채용하는 것이며 그와 관련하여 젠더화된 수사를 사용하는 것으로 보인다. `바다`의 이야기라고 해도 과언이 아닌 한창훈의 소설에서 `바다`는 `남성적인 바다`와 `여성적인 바다`로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 해양의 거친 선상 노동이나 모험 등으로 표출되는 `남성적 바다`는, 영웅적 자아와 인간중심적 사유의 세계로서 소설의 현재로 재현되기 보다는 아스라한 기억 속에 그림자로 남아 있다. 다른 하나는 여성으로 젠더화된 모성성의 바다이다. 이 바다는 남성적 원칙이 지나치게 강조됨으로써 파괴되고 잃어버린 가치로 부각된다. 그러는 한편, 기계론적 세계관과 패권적 현실에서 황폐해진 영혼들이 찾아드는 공간이다. 한창훈의 소설에서 남성 개체나 여성 개체는 정복과 침략과 경쟁과 통제가 지배하는 기술자본주의 사회에서 모두다 가해자가 되고 모두다 피해자가 된다. 이때 여성적인 바다는 기계적 분리주의(자연/인간, 남성/여성)의 세계에서 패배하고 상처받은 영혼들이 존재의 벼랑 끝에서 만나게 되는 자궁의 물(혹은 생명의 습기)이 된다. 생태학과 여성주의는 가부장적 자본주의의 본질적인 두 타자인 자연과 여성에 대해 말한다는 점에서 공통점을 지닌다. 그것은 에코페미니즘으로 수렴되는 바, 에코페미니즘은 자연ㅡ여성의 입장에서 자연ㅡ여성의 능력을 계발하고자 한다. 한창훈 소설의 젠더화된 수사(성스러움, 영성, 모성성)는 이러한 에코페미니즘의 자리에서 투쟁과 정복 지향의 영웅적 자아가 잃어버린, 그러나 회복해야 할 생태적 감수성과 능력을 일깨워준다. 에코페미니즘이 제기한 현대의 과제는 남성적 자아 중심의 사회에서 여성성을 살해하는 대신에 우리 자신에게서 억압되고 부정되는 여성됨을 재통합시키는 것이다. 그렇게 보면 한창훈 소설의 젠더적 관점과 젠더화된 수사는, 에코페미니즘적 감수성과 깊은 상관성을 가질 뿐만 아니라 인간과 자연 혹은 남성성과 여성성 사이의 상호연관성을 강조하는 생태 윤리학의 발전으로 연결된다.

This study tries to look into the point of feminism and some rhetorical devices on the Han, Chang-hoon`s novels. It is based on a view of eco-feminism, not just feminism. The reason is that he wasn`t concerned about a ecological aspect as a feminist but tried to reveal some rhetorical devices with a view of gender based on the point of ecology. It seems that the `Sea` on his novels devide into two phases. We can call the one as a `masculine sea`, the other `feminine sea`. The masculine sea that is expressed like a hard labor on a ship is descript as a shadow in a memory. That is not expressed as a heroic-ego in the world of now. So, feminine sea rises up on the story as a important value that was broken when theory of male ruled the world. At the same time, the feminine sea is a space in that the ruined souls gather together. On the other hand, every male and female is an offender or a victim in modern society where everyone fight and struggle for their better life on his novels. As a result of that, The writer, Han emphasizes a character of feminism in the sea. The feminine sea on the story treat all who are defeated and ruined in the modern devastated world. Ecology and feminism got something in common. those thinking involve a theory about a nature and a female. After all, eco-feminism try to enlighten the ability of a nature and a female. Han also tries to reveal the power and vision of that with some rhetorical devices(sanctity, divinity, maternity). The problem which eco-feminism brings up is that modern society has to revive the nature and feminism in order to purify the modern life. So, we may say his novel, especially his some rhetorical devices based on a view of gender, as works that orient the value of eco-ethics as well as eco-feminism.
