본고는 임학수 시의 내적 연속성을 제국 여행이라는 측면에서 살펴보았다. 임학수는 1930년대 내내 식민지 조선을 비롯하여 확장일로에 있던 제국의 판도 내를 둘러보는 여행에의 욕망을 가지고 있었고 이를 작품의 계기로 삼았다. 『八道風物詩集』과 『候鳥』가 이미 제국의 판도에 안착된 조선 각지 여행의 산물이라면, 『戰線詩集』은 새로이 확장되고 있는 곳으로의 여행이라고 할 수 있다. 본고에서는 식민지 지식인 임학수가 성격이 상반된 영역으로의 여행에서 표출하는 의식과 심리의 차이를 살펴보고 그것이 식민지 지식인의 정신사에 어떻게 접맥되는지를 살펴보았다. 『八道風物詩集』이나 『候鳥』는 상실된 민족에 대한 애도를 표출하고 있음에 반해 『戰線詩集』은 민족의 상실을 대리보충할 수 있는 제국을 소유하고자 하는 욕망을 표출하고 있다. 특히 『戰線詩集』은 제국의 지식인으로 호명당한 당대 지식인의 국책 협력 과정과 방식, 내면화된 이데올로기 양상 등 식민지 파시즘 시기 지식인의 정신적 동향을 이해할 수 있는 대상이라는 점에서 중요한 의미를 가진다.

This dissertation tried to observe the inner continuity of Lim, Hak-su`s poetry in the viewpoint of the empire travel. he had a desire to travel various places of the territory of empire which includes colonial Josen and wrote various works. if paldopungmulsijip and hujo are the product of the Josen travel whereby jeonseonsijip is a product of the new territory of the empire, in this dissertation, I tried to investigate the differences of the consciousness and mentality which he or colonial intellectual expressed in the travels which is contrary to each other. and the effect on the mind of other intellectuals. In paldopungmulsijip and hujo, he mourned the loss of the nation yet in jeonseonsijip, he expressed desire to possess the empire which is able to supplement the lost nation. Specially this collection of poems has a important meaning in the viewpoint of touchstone which is able to understand the cooperative processes of imperial policy and method, and the internalized ideological tendency of the present days intellectual called imperial one.
