The purpose of this study was to investigate how self-scheduling intervention connected to home has influenced on self-scheduling, self-directed activities, and self-determined behaviors of students with intellectual disabilities. In this study, elementary school students with intellectual disabilities were instructed to plan their daily activities by choosing three of their favorite activities, and to plan their own works and lead them to action in a self-directed way. Participants in this study were 3 students with intellectual disabilities in the 5th grade and 6th graders of special education school. A multiple probe design across subjects was applied to examine the effect on self-scheduling and self-directed activities at the baseline, intervention and maintenance stages. Also, self-determined behaviors of the participants were measured by their teachers before and after the intervention. The results of this study showed that self-scheduling intervention improved self-scheduling, self-directed activities, and self-determined behaviors of students with intellectual disabilities. The results showed that self-scheduling intervention in connection with home had a positive effect on self-scheduling, self-directed activities, and self-determined behaviors of elementary school students with intellectual disabilities. This study is significant in that it revealed that the students with intellectual disabilities used their free time productively and practiced self-directed activities through self-scheduling.
