본 연구는 어린이집 영아 특별활동 실태와 특별활동에 대한 원장-부모의 인식을 살펴봄으로써 보육현장에서 적절한 영아대상특별활동 운영을 위해 필요한 시사점을 구하고자 하였다. 연구대상으로 경기도 220개 어린이집 원장 173명과 부모 235명, 총 408명이 참여하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 어린이집 영아의 특별활동 실태에서 실시과목 수는 주 당 `3개`, 특별활동 종류는 `체육`, `음악`,`영어 가 높은 비율로 나타났다. 또한 특별활동과 보육과정과의 연계는 `조금 있다`, 특별활동 계획 및 평가는 전체교사 회의 시 평가하는 것이 가장 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 영아 특별활동에 대한 원장-부모 인식차이 분석결과, 특별활동의 필요 이유에 대해 원장은 영아에게 다양한 경험제공을, 부모는 영아의 특기 및 재능 조기 발견을 위한 것으로 보았다. 특별활동이 불필요한 이유로는 원장과 부모모두 영아교육전문가인 보육교사가 전반적 교육을 담당하는 것이 더 합당하기 때문인 것으로 나타났다. 특별활동의 교육적 효과는 원장이 부모보다 더 높게 인식하였으며, 개선점에 대해서는 원장과 부모 모두 유아와 차별화된 영아 발달 및 흥미에 적합한 특별활동프로그램 개발이 가장 필요하다고 인식하였다.

The purpose of this study is to find implications about special activity operation targeting infants by looking into the actual condition of infants` special activity in a daycare center, and a director and parents` perception of special activity. As study subjects, a total of 408 persons, 173 directors of 220 daycare centers located in Gyeonggi-do Province, 235 school parents participated. The study results are as follows: First, it was found that the number of implementation subjects for infants` special activity in a daycare center was `3 pieces` per week, and that the most preferred sorts of special activity were `Physical Education`, `Music` and `English.` Also, the connection between special activity and child care curriculum was found to be `a little`, and special activity planning and evaluation were found to be evaluated by all teachers at the time of teachers` meeting. Second, as regards the reason for necessity of special activity, a director was found to give weight to diverse experience provision to infants while parents aimed for early discovery of an infant`s specialty and talent. With regard to the reason for unnecessity of special activity, both a director and parents were found to commonly think that it`s more reasonable for a child care teacher to take charge of general infant education as an expert in infant education. In addition, there was a difference in perception of educational effect of special activity between a director and parents, but regarding the point to be improved, both a director and parents were found to unanimously perceive the development of special activity programs suited for differentiated infant development and interest as the prime need.
