(주)이씨오가 개발한 클라우드 기반의 전자책 직구매 플랫폼은 출판사용 플랫폼, 도서관용 플랫폼, CMS플랫폼 이렇게 3개로 구성되어 있다. 출판사 플랫폼을 통해 출판사가 콘텐츠를 등록하는데 우수도서수상, 출판사 추천, 패키지 등의 다양한 형태의 메타데이터와 검색데이터를 등록하면 CMS에 해당 메타데이터가 저장되고 Atom Feed와 도서관 플랫폼을 통해 도서관 사서는 실시간으로 신간의 데이터를 확인할 수 있다. 그외 다양한 검색기능을 통해 도서관의 예산에 맞추어 콘텐츠를 주문하면 해당 주문내역은 출판사에 전달되고 출판사는 주문된 내역을 승인 또는 취소 할 수 있다. 이렇게 주문 완료된 콘텐츠는 도서관에 탑재 또는 ASP를 통해 이용자에게 서비스된다. 출판사는 도서관에 판매되는 판매가를 직접 결정하고 도서관은 그 콘텐츠를 실시간으로 언제든 신간의 콘텐츠를 조금씩 구매할 수 있다. 중간 유통망을 거치지 않고 직구매를 통한 콘텐츠 구매로 도서관은 기존 구매예산대비 구매 종수를 증가할 수 있으며 출판사는 수익이 증대되어 신간 전자책을 더 많이 생산 가능해 진다. 직구매 플랫폼은 다음과 같은 기술이 적용된다. 1. 전자책의 카탈로그가 Atom Feed될 수 있는 표준 XML 구조 개발, 2. 원 클릭 주문서비스 개발, 3. 주문 콘텐츠 바로 서비스플랫폼 개발, 4. 메타데이터 생성 및 변환 서비스 개발, 5. 전자책 복본 체크서비스 개발, 6. 구매시스템 사용자관리 및 자동 이메일 알림서비스 개발, 7. 출판사별 정산서비스 개발, 8. 출판사용 메타데이터관리시스템 개발, 9. 서비스플랫폼 관리시스템 개발, 10. The cloud-based DIRECT e-book PURCHASE PLATFORM developed by ECO, Inc. consists of three platforms that are for publishers, for libraries and CMS respectively. Publishers can register their contents through the platform for publishers. If the publishers register the metadata and search data such as awarded books, recommended books or packages, those data are saved in the CMS. And the librarians can check the updated data through the Atom Feed and platform for libraries in real time. When libraries purchase the contents in their budget through various search, the order is delivered to the publisher and publishers can approve or cancel the order. The approved order is then available for users by being placed in the library or through ASP. Publishers can decide the selling price by themselves and the libraries can purchase the updated contents whenever they want in real time. As there is no mid-distribution network, libraries can purchase more titles with same budget than before and publishers can produce more new ebooks as the profit increases.
