This study will aim to emphasize that the product design and UX design processes can be combined to complement each other despite their inherent weaknesses, using a product development case study. Traditionally in product design, the designer and client`s subjective viewpoints affect a product`s development. This raises some issues: The UX design is an optimized design method that can discover potential consumer demands which then are used to draw solutions using multilateral research methods. However, like product design, there are continuous difficulties in understanding the physical form and functions of a product sensuously. This only allows the PUI (Product User Interface) development to be used in some parts of traditional product design, although UX design can read customer and market demands.1) Considering those issues, this research will examine the integration of traditional product design and UX design methods in terms of its efficiencies for the development of a public product. Through this, the values drawn from a traditional product development perspective and improved UX design methods will be clearly stated.
