본 연구의 목적은 양봉 벌통의 디자인을 개선하여 도시 양봉을 활성화 하고자 한다. 그러나 활성화에는 많은 문제점을 안고 있다. 양봉업이 힘들고, 어렵고, 위험하고, 수익성도 좋지 않다는 것이다. 양봉의 활성화를 위한 1차 조사로 꿀벌 개체수의 감소 원인과 대책 조사, 2차 조사로 도시 양봉의 활성화를 위한 조사, 3차 조사는 벌통 디자인 개선을 위한 조사를 진행하였다. 조사결과 꿀벌의 개체 수 감소의 주요요인으로 밀원의 감소, 양봉가의 인력감소, 기후의 변화, 질병 및 관리부족에 의한 집단폐 사였다. 양봉가의 대부분이 양봉업의 어려움과 육체적으로 힘든 것이 도시 양봉 활성화를 저해하는 원인으로 삼고 있으며, 우수한 여왕벌을 계속 확보해 가는 기술과 기능의 어려움 또한 그 원인으로 삼고 있다. 벌통의 디자인 개선과 관련하여 벌통의 고유번호 부여, 기호 표시, 위치선정, 봉사 설치 활용 등의 환경적인 측면의 디자인 개선과 벌통의 재질, 컬러 디자인 등의 벌통 외부적인 측면의 디자인 개선과 이중 구조, 급수, 급식의 자동화, 내부 온도 조절 시스템에 대한 디자인 개선 등의 내부적인 측면에 대한 디자인 개선이 필요하다.

Through this study, we aim to vitalize urban apiculture by improving bee-hive design. Apiculture is hard, difficult, dangerous, and low profitable. As the first step, we conducted a research on cause of decrease of population and countermeasures, a research for vitalization of urban apiculture, and a research to improve bee-hive design. The result of these researches, main causes of decrease of population are decrease of bee plant and apiculturist, climatic change, disease, and mass stranding by lack of oversight. Physical difficulty of apiculturist cause the arrested development of urban apiculture. Moreover, lack of functional technique to keep securing the superior queen generates these causes. There will be few design changes to be expected for the improvement; environmental changes as assigning serial number on the hive, marking signs, selecting location, and utilizing Bonsa installation, exterior changes as material for the hive, color, and design, and internal changes as dual structure, water supply, automation of water supply, inside climate control system, and more.
