매체가 발달하면서 다양한 시각 자료를 해석하거나, 직접 활용하여 글을 쓰고 발표하는 능력이 중요한 의사소통 능력으로 주목 받고 있다. 교육과정 역시 시각 자료를 이해하고 활용하는 능력을 성취 기준으로 강조하고 있지만, 교과서와 교수·학습 차원에서는 상식적인 내용과 방법 수준을 벗어나지 못하고 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 시각 자료를 분석하고 활용하는 전략과 관련된 구체적인 내용 교수 지식을 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위해 시선 추적 장치(Eye-Tracker)의 결과물인 히트 맵(Heat map)을 선행 조직자로 활용하는 방법을 제안하였다. 이미 국어교육학계와 한국어교육학계에서는 시선 추적 장치를 활용한 연구 방법론이 자리 잡았으므로, 이제는 그 분석 결과물을 수업 자료로 활용하는 방법도 고민할 시점이 되었다. 이 연구의 의의는 시각 자료를 해석하는 과정과 방법의 차이가 결국 자료 해석 글쓰기 능력과 관련성이 높다는 가설을 입증하고, 자료 해석 능력이 우수한 집단의 자료 해석 과정을 자료 해석의 원리를 가르치는 선행 조직자로 활용한 점이다. 시각 자료 분석 능력이 뛰어한 집단과 미흡한 집단의 시선 추적 결과물을 교수·학습에 활용한다면 시각 자료 해석 전략을 효과적으로 지도할 수 있을 것이다.

As the media developed, the ability to write and present using various visual materials became important communication skills. The curriculum emphasizes the ability to understand and express visual materials. However, it remains at the low level of common sense in the textbooks and teaching and learning. The purpose of this study is to develop teaching and pedagogical contents knowledge to strategies to analyze and utilize tables and graphs. This paper propose a Meaningful reception learning method that utilizes eye tracking data as a Advanced organizer that students can easily understand. Tracking eye movement can show us the visual information processing. The eye movements reflect the moments that the information perceived. The heat map that has used Advanced organizer shows where the subject is paying attention to. Using eye tracking data from a group with excellent visual analysis skills and a lacking group as a leading organizer, students will be able to effectively teach visual interpretation strategies.
