The 2016 U.S. Presidential election is significantly different from past elections. The candidates were unique. The candidate from the democratic party was former first lady who also served as senator and state secretary. The candidate from the republican party was the richest presidential candidate in the U.S. political history but a political outsider with no professional political career. The outcome shattered not only the U.S. but the world as well. The election of Trump suggests significant changes to the international order. It also suggests there could be significant changes to the US-China relations compare to the Us-China relations under the Obama administration. In this paper, I analyzes the meaning of the election of Trump from the domestic level. The units of analysis are the american public, two major parties, and the presidential candidates. The aim is to understand and predict the future of the US-China relations under the Trump administration. I argue that the best indicator of the future of international order and the future of the US-China relations is the changes in the US domestic political geography.
