본 연구에서는 그러한 점을 감안하여 CSJ(Corpus of Spontaneous Japanese)를 활용한 분석을 진행하였다.
There are a few studies about the meaning and the usage of「∼ga」and「∼kedo」which are basically related to the adversative relationship. But there is not a study about the meaning and the usage of「N(noun phrase or noun clause)+janaidesukedo」construction. One of the reasons is that previous studies were basically based on the materials gathered from written corpus. So, in this paper, the analysis was done using the materials gathered from CSJ(Corpus of Spontaneous Japanese). As a methodology, types of metonymy introduced in Lakoff(1987) were used. More specifically, N parts in the「N+janaidesukedo」construction were classified into `social stereotypes, typical examples, ideals, paragons, salient examples, proverbs` and their meaning and function was examined.
Theoretically, it was revealed that「N+janaidesukedo」construction is basically based on the cognitive process related to similarity. The cognitive process related to similarity requires some sort of prototypes. This paper showed that `social stereotypes, typical examples, ideals, paragons, salient examples, proverbs` could be used as prototypes metonymically. Like this, this study dealt with the detailed contents of the prototypes which function as a basis of a categorization.
