The noble, “Sansiro”, depicts a youth`s campus life. He came from Kumamoto Province in Meiji Era to make something of himself. In those times the established emotion and value was completely denied and a newly one had formed. In this trend a new class appeared to get the cultural capital, that is `academic cliques`. They strived to learn various western foreign languages and knowledge instead of traditional ones. It was, of course, prerequisite that they should discipline their bodies to accustomed to western style life. This manuscript looks into how the youths formed a new cultural capital and led their life through Sansiro`s campus life.
