이 연구는 『한국 현대시어 빈도사전』을 활용하여 정지용의 시집 『정지용 시집』(시문학사, 1935)의 시어의 양상을 밝히는 것을 목적으로 진행되었다. 『정지용 시집』의 시어의 총량, 품사별 비율, 출현빈도 등을 현대시 코퍼스와 대비하여 그 양상을 구체적으로 드러내는 것이다. 그리고 이 과정을 통해 『정지용 시집』에만 나타나는 시어의 목록을 작성하고 그 의미를 살펴보았다. 또한 『정지용 시집』의 모든 시어를 『한국 현대시어 빈도사전』에서 대조하는 과정에서 드러난 문제점도 함께 점검해 보았다. 『정지용 시집』에 수록된 87편의 시에는 제목을 포함하여 총 2,091개의 시어가 4,832회 나타난다. 이 중 일반명사, 고유명사, 의존명사, 대명사, 수사 등 체언은 1,115개의 시어가 2,616회 출현하고 있다. 동사, 형용사 등 용언은 744개의 시어가 1,343개의 활용형으로 1,768회 출현한다. 『정지용 시집』의 고빈도 어휘의 목록을 작성하고 『한국 현대시어 빈도사전』에서 확인한 결과 『정지용 시집』에서 높은 빈도를 보이는 시어들은 대부분 『한국 현대시어 빈도사전』에서도 빈도 순위에서 상위를 차지하고 있다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 『정지용 시집』의 고빈도 시어 중 『한국 현대시어 빈도사전』의 빈도 순위와의 대조 속에서 각별한 의미를 가지는 어휘는 명사 `유리`, 동사 `피어오르다` 등을 들 수 있다. 이들 시어는 『정지용 시집』의 특징을 밝히는 데 주요한 단서로 작용할 수 있을 것으로 보인다. 『정지용 시집』에만 나타나는 고유 시어 106개 중 명사는 56개, 동사는 15개, 형용사는 12개, 부사는 12개, 고유명사는 7개, 감탄사는 3개이다. 백석 시집 『사슴』의 고유 시어와 비교해보면, 『사슴』에는 대체로 발굴된 시어가 많은 비중을 차지하고 있는 반면, 『정지용 시집』에는 독특한 활용을 통해 새롭게 만들어낸 시어가 두드러진다고 할 수 있다. 『정지용 시집』의 시어들을 『한국 현대시어 빈도사전』에서 확인하는 과정에서 드러난 문제점들을 조사한 결과, 빈도 산정에 문제점을 보이고 있는 경우, 다른 용례가 제시된 경우, 표제어 처리에 문제가 있는 경우, 누락된 경우 등을 확인할 수 있었다. 현재까지 문제가 있는 것으로 확인된 시어는 『정지용 시집』의 2,091개 시어 중 18개에 불과하여, 『한국 현대시어 빈도사전』의 통계 값 전반을 무의미하게 만들 정도는 아니라고 판단된다. 그러나 어떠한 통계작업도 기초가 확실하지 않다면 그 결과는 주목받을 가치가 없으므로 반드시 수정, 보완되어야 할 사항으로 보인다.

The purpose of this study is to reveal the appearance of poetic words in Poems of Jeong Jj yong by using The frequency dictionary for the words of Korea`s modern poetry. The main content is the total amount, parts of speech rate and frequency of appearance of Poems of Jeong Jj yong poetic words, through contrast with Korean modern poetry poetic words corpus. The frequency dictionary for the words of Korea`s modern poetry is a collection of various information, which is important for the frequency of Korean modern poetry poetic words. In Poems of Jeong Jj yong, 2,091 poetic words appear 4,832 times. Among them, general nouns, proper nouns, dependent nouns, pronouns, and numeral have 1,115 words appearing 2,616 times. Verbs and adjectives have 744 words appearing 1,768 times. Most of the words high frequently appearing in Poems of Jeong Jj yong are in the top of the frequency ranking in The frequency dictionary for the words of Korea`s modern poetry. A noun `glass` can be a major clue to characterizing Poems of Jeong Jj yong Among 106 unique poetic words that appear only in Poems of Jeong Jj yong, 56 are nouns, 15 are verbs, 12 are adjectives, 12 are adverbs, 7 are proper noun, and 3 are exclamations. Compared with the unique word of Deer, the unique words of Deer are mostly found, but the unique words of Poems of Jeong Jj yong are remarkably made new by unique utilization. Some problems have been found in the process of comparing the words of Poems of Jeong Jj yong in The frequency dictionary for the words of Korea`s modern poetry. Incorrect examples include cases showing problems in frequency estimation, cases where other examples are presented, cases where there is a problem in the processing of headwords, and examples that are missing. So far, the identified wrong word is 18 out of 2,091 poems in Poems of Jeong Jj yong. Therefore, it is not enough to make the entire statistical value of The frequency dictionary for the words of Korea`s modern poetry meaningless. Although minor problems, the wrong part of The frequency dictionary for the words of Korea`s modern poetry must be corrected.
