梅山 洪直弼은 많은 수량의 傳狀과 碑誌를 창작하였다. 본고는 이들 작품의 양상을 살핀 후에, 그 의의를 검토하였다. 한 시대를 살아가는 선비로서, 그는 당대의 세상사를 정확하게 이해하고 대응하여, 이로써 현실을 바르게 개선하기 위해 노력하였다. 매산이 살고 있던 19세기 전반은 시대의 상황이 다른 시대와는 같지 않았다. 그래서 그는 말세를 치유하는 처방을 마련하는 것이 시급하고 절실한 과제라고 생각하였다. 그는 이런 시기에 忠, 孝, 貞烈을 알리는 것이 말세를 치료하는 방법이 될 수 있다고 생각하였다. 그래서 忠孝와 貞烈을 실행한 사람들을 적극적으로 소개하여 세상에 알리기 위해 노력하였다. 비록 이들이 지위가 낮은 사람이라고 해도, 그는 항상 이들에게 傳狀과 碑誌를 기쁘게 작성해서 주었다. 그는 세상에 이들의 드러나지 않은 아름다운 덕행[潛德]과 감추어진 훌륭한 행실[幽光]을 알려서, 이를 세상 사람들의 본보기로 삼고자 하였다. 이로 인해, 그는 많은 수량의 비지와 전장을 남길 수 있었다. 이 연구에서 매산이 작성한 이런 기록들을 검토하여 창작 의도를 추적 하였다. 특히 국가의 위기를 극복하고 사회의 기강을 바로 세우기 위해서, 귀감으로 삼을 수 있는 인물들을 발굴하여 알리는 일에 적극적으로 참여하였다는 것에 주목하였다. 이를 통해, 19세기 전반 조선의 문학과 사회 현상을 이해하는 데에 이바지하고자 하였다.
Maesan Hong Jik-pil(梅山 洪直弼) has created a large number of 傳狀 and 碑誌. This study was done to examine the appearance of these works after examining the aspects of these works. As a scholar living in an era, he correctly understood and responded to the world history of the present day, thereby striving to improve the reality properly. In the first half of the nineteenth century, when 梅山 lived, the situation of the time was not the same as any other age. So he thought it was a pressing and urgent task to prepare a remedy to heal a degenerate age. He thought at this time that informing 忠孝 and 貞烈 could be a way to heal the end times. Therefore, He actively introduced the people who practiced 忠孝 and 貞烈 to make the world known. Even if they are low-ranking people, He was always happy to write these 傳狀 and 碑誌. He informs the world of the unseen beautiful virtues and the good works concealed, tried to make this an example of the world. Because of this, he was able to leave large quantities of 傳狀 and 碑誌. In this study, reviewed these records made by 梅山 and tracked the intention of creation. In particular, in order to overcome the crisis of the country and establish the discipline of society rightly, It was noticed that he actively participated in the task of identifying and informing people who could be regarded as an ex ample. Through this, I tried to contribute to understanding the literature and social phenomenon of Joseon in the first half of the nineteenth century.
