에듀테인먼트란 에듀케이션(교육)과 엔터테인먼트(흥미)를 결합시킨 신조어다. 학습활동에 흥미라는 요소를 첨가시켜서 학생들의 참여와 흥미를 유발하는 새로운 형태의 교육을 뜻한다. 정보가 넘치는 디지털시대의 화두는 "지식과 정보를 어떻게 전달하는가?"에 집중되고, 따라서 디지털 에듀테인먼트가 중요한 문제로 떠올랐다. 모바일 교육 콘텐츠는 모바일 미디어를 통해 언제 어디서나 콘텐츠를 통해 학습할 수 있는 특징을 가지고 있어 본 연구에서는 모바일 교육 콘텐츠에 대한 현황을 짚어보고 방안과 전망을 제안하고자 한다.

Edutainment is the new-coined language which combines educations and entertainments. Edutainment means the education of new form which add an interest and a participation to studying activity of the students. Subject of the digital age when overflows information is “how a knowledge and information deliver?". Consequently entertainment became the important element. The mobile educational contents have features that users will can study when or where it stands. A report points out the present condition regarding the mobile educational contents and proposes a prospect.
