규방문화권에서 전승·향유된 것이 확인되는 일련의 <오륜가>는 효자, 충신, 열녀, 형제, 붕우 등 오륜의 항목에 따른 다양한 인물담이 삽입된 점이 무척 주목할 만한 작품이다. 본고에서는 이들 인물담이 어떤 맥락에서 수용되고 어떤 변이 양상을 보이는지 살펴보는 데 목표를 두었다. 이를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 먼저 수용 맥락을 살펴보면 첫째, 한국의 설화 전통과의 연관성을 들 수 있다. <오륜가>에 삽입된 인물담 중에는 한국의 구비설화나 문헌설화로 널리 전승되면서 익숙해진 이야기와 흡사한 경우가 많다. 둘째, 여성 수신서가 보급되면서 다양한 인물담을 향유하게 된 점을 들 수 있다. 행실도류를 비롯한 수신서를 통해 인물담을 향유해 오던 전통 속에 <오륜가>의 인물담 수용도 가능할 수 있었으리라 추정된다. 셋째, 조선후기 인물중심 가사가 창작되고 전승된 측면을 생각해 볼 수 있다. 인물을 개성적으로 형상화하고 인물의 행동을 이야기의 틀을 갖춰 제시하는 가사의 전통 속에서 인물담이 대거 수용된 <오륜가>가 창작될 수 있었던 것은 아닌가 생각된다. 한편 인물담의 변이 양상을 살펴보면 첫째, 중심인물이 이동되고 인물형상이 변모된 점을 들 수 있다. 본래 이야기에서 중심인물을 이동시키면서 인물형상을 조금씩 비틀어 놓은 양상이 포착된다. 둘째, 교화적 시각이 반영되고 행복한 결말로 내용이 변화된 점을 들 수 있다. 여기에는 오륜 규범에 충실하다면 어떤 문제든 해결될 수 있다는 인식이 반영되어 있다. 셋째, 합리적 서사 또는 자연스런 내용 전개를 시도한 점이다. 본래 이야기에서 잘 납득되기 어려웠던 부분이 수정됨으로써 일정정도 이해의 폭을 넓힌 효과를 거둔 것으로 보인다. 이와 같이 인물담이 수용·변이된 양상을 살펴본 결과 <오륜가>에는 늙고 병든 노인의 봉양과 가난의 문제에 대한 깊은 관심이 포착되고, 맹목적인 규범실천보다는 현실적인 인간형에 대한 요구 및 일상의 실천 문제의 고민이 발견된다. 그런 면에서 <오륜가>는 인물담의 나열로 이뤄진 단순한 작품이 아닌 진지한 삶의 고민을 담은 의미심장한 작품이라 평가할 수 있다.

The aim of this paper is to examine the contexts of acceptance and aspects of variation on gasa < Oryunga > that has passed down in kyubang cultural area. < Oryunga > is a remarkable work in that various characters are inserted. The context of reception is as follows. First, it is related to Korean folk tradition. Second, as the ethical textbook of women became popular, it became possible to enjoy many stories of characters. Third, character-driven gasa were created and passed down in late Joseon. The aspects of variation is as follows. First, the main character was moved and the figure of the characters changed. Second, the educational view was reflected and the ending changed happily. It reflects the perception that any problem can be solved if it is faithful to the norm. Third, the stories unfolded in a very natural way.The stories which were difficult to understand were revised to broaden understanding. From the above, < Oryunga > reveals an interest in the problems of supporting old and sick old people and problem of poverty. And the realistic characters is required and reveals the importance of practicing norm in everyday life. This work can be evaluated as a meaningful work that contains not only a simple work composed of the list of person fences but also a serious life troubles. < Oryunga > can be evaluated as a meaningful work that contains serious life troubles.
