In recent years, relational thought has derived the increasing interests from geography and other social science studies. Relational thought understands the meaning of object (or material) through the relation with other objects, and criticize the preexisting meaning of place and structural thinking on space. Assemblage and other topological thought have been brought to extend the relational approach with emphasizing on the fixity of power and spatial representation as well as on the openness and complexity of relations. This research attempted to reveal the ways to understand the migration with relational and topological thought, and the major findings are as follows. Migration has to consider movement, flow and settlement, and to include the connection between origin and destination, and also to think the relation between local people and migrants. To pass the state border means to enter into the territory of new authority in power, and to compose multiple spatial scale in terms of everyday lives of migrants. State and social discourses are important components in the composition of topology and positionality for migrants. In this respect, migration is generated through the various trans-border relations, and it is a system which has its own opened and complex topological modes.
