야마다 비묘는 언문일치체의 선구자로서 잘 알려져 있다. 그는 기존의 문체 에서 벗어나 속어를 적극적으로 사용하는 독특한 회화체를 활용하여 참신한 문체를 선보였다. 「무사시노」는 1887년 11월 20일ㆍ11월 23일ㆍ12월 6일자 요미우리신문에 연재되고, 1888년 8월 20일에 『나쓰코다테』의 간행과 함께 다시 발표되었다. 본 작품은 상편ㆍ중편ㆍ하편의 3부 구조이며, 각각 가부키의 단락 구성과 유사하게 구성되어 있다. 그런데 요미우리신문의 초출본과 『나쓰코다테』 수록본사 이에는 약 8개월이라는 시간 간격이 있으며, 이 시기에 작품에 수정이 가해져 있음을 확인할 수 있다. 첫째로 작품 서두와 말미에 오는 글을 수정하여 작품의 사실성을 높이고, 둘째로 시제를 과거형에서 현재형으로 변경하여 독자가 작품 세계 속에 실제로 존재하고 있는 것처럼 느끼게 하고, 셋째로 와카를 이용하여 작품의 분위기를 적절히 전환하고 있다. 또한 독자 옆에서 작품을 설명해 주는 화자를 등장시킴으로써 독자가 작품 세계 속으로 보다 깊게 빠져들 수 있도록 하였다. 본고에서는 역사상 있었던 일을 그린 작품인 「무사시노」가 독자에게 미지 의 세계와도 같은 과거의 세계를 이해시키기 위하여 다양한 수법을 이용하고 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 이러한 비묘의 수법이 작품의 판본에 따른 차이를 통 해서 명확해짐을 지적하였다.

Yamada Bimyo is well known as a pioneer of the modern colloquial style. He showed off novel style by using a unique conversation style which is actively using everyday language depart from the existing language style. "Musashino" had been published serially in the Yomiuri shimbun at November 20, 23, December 6, 1887, and re-published with publishing "Natsukodate" at 20 August, 1888. This work has three parts structure. Each is structured similarly to Kabuki`s paragraph structure. By the way, there is an 8 months interval between publishing by Yomiuri shimbun and publishing by "Natsukodate", and then it can be confirmed that the work has been modified, at this time. Firstly, modifying the article at the beginning and end of the work to enhance the reality of the work, secondly, changing the tense from the past to the present to make the reader feel as if they are actually in the world of work, thirdly, using Waka to change the atmosphere of the work appropriately. Also, by introducing a speaker to explain the work next to the reader, the reader is able to dive deeper into the work world. In this paper, Musashino, a work that depicts what happened in history, has confirmed to the reader that it uses a variety of techniques to understand the past world as well as the unknown world. In addition, it pointed out that Bimyo`s method is made clear by the difference according to the edition of the work
