한반도의 분단체제에 대한 이해에 있어서 공간에 대한 성찰은 필수적이다. 생활문화, 가치지향 등 인간의 삶은 분명 공간 내지 장소라는 물리적 기반 위에서 영위되기 때문이다. 그런데 대개 분단체제와 관련해 이러한 공간이나 장소에 대한 고찰은 특정 주제화되지 못했으며, 논의 역시 활발히 전개되지 못했다. 하지만 분단체제의 유지·강화가 공간 형성과 맺는 상관성은 매우 중요한 문제이다. 한반도 분단의 지속은 분명 분단체제의 유지라는 목표 달성과 그 과정의 효율성을 높이기 위해 활용되는, 특정 공간의 형성 과정과 일치했다. 이 글은 바로 이 지점에서 출발한다. 구체적으로 이 글은 분단체제의 공간 형성 전략을 `공간의 국가적 독점화와 이중적 경계짓기`, `전쟁 기념물의 설치와 물신화된 경계의 확산`, `적대적 서사에 의한 로컬리티의 재구성` 등으로 규정하는 한편, 그러한 공간 형성 전략을 뒷받침하는 논리로서 `분단국가주의`와 `반공주의`를 제시하고 있다.

When it comes to understanding of the divided system of the Korean peninsula, it is essential to reflect on space. This is because human life including life culture and value orientation is clearly led based on the physical foundation of space or place. However, regarding the divided system, most reviews on such space or place have not been specified when it comes to theme, and discussions have also not been developed actively. However, maintaining and strengthening the divided system has a very important correlation with space development. Continuation of the division of the Korean peninsula definitely matched with a specific space development process that is used to achieve the goal of continuing the divided system and improve the efficiency. This research starts from this. In specific, it defines space development strategy of the divided system as `national monopolization of space and setting twofold boundary,` `installation of war monuments and expansion of materialized boundaries,` `reconstruction of locality by hostile description,` etc. while suggests `divided nationalism` and `anti-communism` as the logic to support the space development strategy.
