본 연구는 발달장애인 가족의 돌봄 경험과 지원서비스 욕구를 파악하기 위해 어머니를 대상으로 초점집단면담을 실시하였다. 초점집단면담은 집단의 역동을 통해 연구주제에 대한 깊이 있는 논의가 가능하다. 연구에는 발달장애인의 어머니 총 19명이 참여하였고, 자녀의 생애주기에 따라 4개 집단으로 구성하여 실시하였다. 질적분석을 통해 최종적으로 4개 범주와 11개의 주제가 도출되었다. 4개 범주는 `가족의 삶에 끼치는 영향`, `가족이 일상에서 직면하는 어려움`, `가족지원서비스의 한계점`, `가족지원서비스 욕구`이다. 본 연구의 결과에 기초하여, 가족지원을 촉진하기 위한 제도적 방안으로 ` 가족지원 개념합의, 가족이 참여하고 주도하는 가족지원, 복지정보망 구축 등`을 제언하였다. 또한 실천적 방안으로 `가족멘토링 서비스, 아버지 양육참여 보장, 쉼 서비스, 자녀의 미래준비, 주간활동서비스` 등을 제언하였다.

The study conducted a focus group interview aimed at understanding the experience of mother of people with developmental disabilities and the desires for family support services. Focus group interviews allow in-depth discussion of the subject of research through dynamic dynamics. A total of 19 mothers were involved in and consisted of four groups of children according to their children`s life cycle. Finally, four categories were derived from the quality-management of the qualitative analysis. The four categories are `The Impact of Family Life on Their Families`, `Difficulties in Everyday Life`, `The Limits of Family Support` and `Family Support Services needs`. Based on the results of this study, the framework for promoting family support was proposed to facilitate family support, family support, family support, and establishment of welfare information networks. In addition, a practical method was suggested for practical purposes such as family mentoring services, parental support, vigilance services, future preparation of children`s futures, and day activities.
