`표준어 모음(1990)`은 `표준어 규정(1988)`의 원칙을 실제 어휘에 적용하고, `표준어 규정`에서 누락되었거나 보충이 필요한 부분을 보완했다는 점에서 규범을 실제적으로 적용하는 출발점이 되었으며 이는 결과적으로 `표준어 규정`과 규범 사전을 연결하는 가교로서 중요한 역할을 수행한 것으로 평가할 수 있다. `표준어 모음`과 같은 표준어 사정 작업은 규범 사전의 편찬과 밀접한 관련이 있는데 실제로 `표준어 모음`을 통해 규범 사전의 편찬에 필요한 원리와 표준어 선택의 준거가 제시됨으로써 규범 사전 편찬의 기반이 마련되었다고 할 수 있다. `표준어 모음`은 `표준어 규정`, `한글 맞춤법` 등을 보완하는 어문 규범의 준거로 국어 정책적인 의미도 적지 않다. 규범의 세부적인 준거를 제시하는 것 외에도 사전학적인 관점에서 전문 용어와 일상 용어에 대한 기준을 제시하는 등 이후에 편찬된 규범 사전에 많은 영향을 준 것이 사실이다. 국어의 표준어에 대한 본격적이고 심도 있는 논의를 위해서는 `사정한 조선어 표준말 모음(1936)`에서 `표준어 규정(1988)`, `표준어 모음(1990)`, `표준국어대사전(1999)`에 이르는 과정에 대한 폭넓은 논의가 필요하다.

"PYOJUNEO MOEUM(1990)" selects the standard word by applying the principle of "PYOJUNEO GYUJEONG(1988)" to the vocabulary extracted by the Korean language dictionary. This also has a meaning to supplement standard word provision. In this respect it can be evaluated that "PYOJUNEO MOEUM" fulfilled the role of connecting standard word provision and normative dictionary. Choosing standard languages is closely related to compilation in advance of norms. Through these tasks the foundation of compilation of normative dictionaries has been prepared by presenting compliance with the principles necessary for compiling norms beforehand and selection of standard languages. "PYOJUNEO MOEUM" has a lot of meaning in terms of Korean language policy in conformity with the word sentence norm. In addition to presenting the detailed compliance of the norms, we gave a lot of influence beforehand, such as prescriptions of technical terms and daily vocabulary from a preliminary point of view, beforehand compiled norms. For a full-scale and detailed discussion of the standard language of the Korean language, it is necessary to conduct a wide range of research from the viewpoint of Korean language policy.
