정체성은 오랫동안 사회과학 분야의 주요 연구 주제로 다루어져 왔다. 최근 들어 문식 활동을 정체성 표현과 재구성을 위한 사회적 상호작용으로 인식하는 경향에 따라 국내 연구에서도 관련 연구가 확산되는 양상을 보인다. 이에 이 연구에서는 2000년대 이후 정체성과 문식성(문식 활동)을 키워드로 한 국내 연구들을 검토하여 주된 연구의 양상을 살피고 이분야 연구의 확산을 위한 향후 과제들을 제안해 보았다. 약 30편의 학술논문을 분석하여 선행 연구에서 두드러진 경향을 정체성의 차원, 연구 대상, 정체성과 주체성의 관계, 연구 방법의 네 측면으로 구분하고 이러한 연구 경향이 함의하는 바에 대해 논의하였다. 마지막으로 향후 이 분야의 연구가 더 확산될 수 있는 방안으로 연구 필드(학교 밖, 인터넷 공간 등)가 확대되어야 한다는 점, 복합양식적 접근이 필요하다는 점, 정체성 연구의 교육적 방향성에 대한 논의가 필요하다는 점, 학제적 연구의 필요성에 대해 제안하였다.

Identity has been an important research topic in social science since the late 20th century. As research on the interaction between identity and literacy practices also has increased recently, this study analyzed the research trends and suggested further research topics in this area. A group of research published in Korea since 2000s was reviewed and four themes such as dimension of identity, subject of research, relationship between identity and agency, and research methods were found and discussed. Four suggestions for further research were also discussed: research field needs to be extended to out-of-school contexts and the Internet; multimodal analysis needs to be considered for a better understanding of identity construction through literacy practices; more discussion is necessary for setting educational directions on identity; interdisciplinary studies are necessary for a better understanding of identity.
